BEETLEJUICE ANIMATIC PILOT - CASTING CALL
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
A collaborative effort to assemble an early audio/animatic test pilot for a reboot of the Beetlejuice animated series. Voice actors, once cast, may be called back for potential future projects.
PLOT*:
Set years after the events of the 1989 animated series. Beetlejuice and Lydia are back! Goth college student, Lydia Deetz, and her dearly departed best friend (and sometimes boyfriend), Beetlejuice, embark on wacky misadventure as the lines between the mortal realm and The Neitherworld, a land of monsters, ghosts, ghouls, goblins and zombies, become blurred.
*( If successful, the plot of following episodes may differ in time/place/setting drastically from the pilot with the inclusion of more recurring casting opportunities. If you are not chosen for this project but still wish to be involved, stay tuned for future casting calls!)
Requirements: Standard editing software. A quality microphone. An appropriately quiet recording space.

Individual payment for the pilot episode will be $50 . For future episodes, rates will be discussed with the individual performers.

The vocal quality of a sleazy undead car salesman. He possesses a great deal of vocal fry/rasp. He is a shapeshifter and often takes on impressions of pop icons, but never loses his specifically ghastly vocal quality. Ad-libbing for this role is welcome.
This role calls for a versatile actor. The preferred tone would be as similar to Stephen Ouimette's Beetlejuice from the animated series as possible, however we are open to a Keaton-esque performance as well. Individual interpretations are 100% acceptable as well, so long as you are able to comfortably sustain and flex the voice as needed.

Lydia Deetz is a young woman from the north eastern US. She is goth, but not necessarily gloomy. The preferred tone would be similar to Alyson Court's Lydia Deetz from the animated series, though keep in mind that this is Lydia around the age of 23. This project is set after the animated universe.
Nothing need be exact and individual interpretation is welcome. The voice need only be sustainable and comfortable.
