Batman: The Adventure Continues - The Motion Comic Series

Project Overview

A Long-Shot...During a dark time for the Animation Industry, when the medium itself was considered irrelevant, only for children...In 1992, The Pop Culture World, and the world at large, was set on fire...

Batman: The Animated Series, not only brought, at the time, a character that was just starting to regain mainstream momemtum after years of creative dormancy and industry doubt, but helped revolutionize what animation storytelling can be. Between the series iconic musical score, visual spectacle, timeless stories, and incredible voice casting of actors which included Kevin Conroy as The Dark Knight, and Mark Hamill as The Joker, BTAS was, and continues to be a hit across audiences of all ages today.

Now, nearly 30 years after BTAS's first airing as a Prime-Time Television series on the Fox network, members of the series creative team, including BTAS and DC veterans Alan Burnett and Paul Dini, came back together for a revitalization of the epic animated series.:Batman: The Adventures Continue, telling a brand new tale for The Dark Knight and his supporting cast in the BTAS World, an untold story years before Batman Beyond, but a time before Justice League. featuring not only the characters we all know and love, but characters new to the lore of Batman: The Animated Series, and The DC Animated Universe as a whole.

Now, newcoming Storyteller Michael Walter presents Batman: The Adventures Continue - The Motion Comic Series, an episodic presentation of this new Dark Knight story, told with an original musical score, sound effects and full Voice Actingfor an audience long hungry for more stories told in this fantastic universe.

Role assigned to: plumb

The Dark Knight, The Caped Crusader, The Vigilante, The Detective....Batman has gone by many titles, from those close to him to the general public that has a wide variety of conceptions about his one-man war on Crime. While the alter ego of billionare Bruce Wayne has been around for many years, it was his adventures in an animated series originally debuting on Prime Time TV Screens that took Batman higher than he's ever been taken before. Accompaning the series incredibly writting and visual spectacule is the casting of Kevin Cornoy in the title role, who's iconic take on the character further marked Batman's legacy in Pop Culture.

It's a huge plus if anyone who would like to take on the role of The Dark Knight sounds like Kevin Conroy, but like all the characters in this story, and it's motion comic presentation, everyone auditioning is encouraged to read for The Dark Knight with human emotion and depth.

  • Someone took over our fusion cannon by remote-control. There are maybe 3 people on earth smart enough to pull that off. 2 were already on the Watchtower. And that leaves…

  • Excuse me, aren’t you The Famous Lois Lane? I read all about your adventure on Airforce 1…You’re quite the news maker.

  • I am Vengeance, I am The Night, I am Batman!

One of few people, if any, who trully know the human emotion and complexity of a young, lost man who struggles aganist both himself and those which he fights aganist. every day and night,  Alfred Pennyworth has always been a resource of emotion and confidence for the Wayne Family, espeically for Young Bruce Wayne, a human being who supports a young boy as his adopted son in his struggle to ensure the tradgety that befell him would never happen to anyone else.

Given life in Batman: The Animated Series by Actor Efrem Zimbalist Jr., While it's a plus if anyone auditioning for this role sounds like Efrem Zimbalsit Jr., My hope for anyone who wants to be this character is that they feel this character and bring him to life the best way they can.

  • Rough night of Crime Fighting, Sir?

  • A Cocktail party at the cloud night tonight. I thought a merino wool and cashmere with a subtle blue stripe might be just the thing.

  • Vengeance blackens the soul, Bruce. I always feared you would become that which you fought against. You walk the edge of that abyss every night, but you haven't fallen in and I thank heaven for that... But Andrea fell into that pit years ago, and no one, not even you, could've pulled her back.

An Iconic antagonist of The DC Heroes, primarily The Man Of Steel himself, Lex Luthor and Bruce Wayne are opposites. While both put on a facide for the world, Wayne seeks to use his wealth and resources to protect the innocent and uphold Order and Justice, while Luthor seeks his own advantage in using his wealth and resources to get ahead of all, even if it means orchastrating criminal acts and risking the safety of the innocent.

Originally played in Batman: The Animated Series and Superman: The Animated Series by Clancy Brown, The Luthor in this story is the same Luthor from BTAS and STAS., and we're definetely going for a Clancy Brown sound, but also a menace and cunning demeanor in the characters portrayal.

  • You see, um, Superman. I own, Metropolis, my technology built it, my will keeps it going and nearly 2/3rds of it’s people work for me whether they know it or not. Even you have to admit, it’s a model of efficiency…and yet, I often thought..why limit myself to just one city? A being of Your abilities might be useful to me, on a say…Global Scale? Why don’t you fly on in, and we’ll discuss it?

  • My dear, there are many lost causes. Believe me, I’ve spent a lifetime on one in particular. But none are so hopeless as trying to elicit even, a soupcon of emotion from Bruce Wayne. Though I commend you for trying.

Jason Todd, in the lore of Batman: The Animated Series, in this story, is shrowed in mystery. A character who comes to Gotham City, initally observing the adventures of The Dark Knight and his allies from a distance.  A Bit older than Dick Grayson, smart, dangerous, This man lurks in the same shadows as The Dark Knight, but with a much more sinister objective.

Think Brett Dalton's character Grant Ward from Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D, with a calm demeanor which can change into impulse in a second. But nonetheless calculating, one step ahead.

  • This is where it all began. Everything, even me, in a strange way…such a creepy, cold vibe. Like a haze, you can see it. I Know you can feel it...feels good…The Most consequential spot in Gotham and he has, no idea.

  • Starting dialing, tough guy, let’s see how far you get!

Matt Hagan, one of the most famous working actors, dubbed "The Man of a million faces", faced professional and personal decay after suffering disfigurement at the hands of a terrible car accident. Desperate to save his career, Hagan made a devil's deal with a man who sought his own advantages over his rivals, only to suffer a betrayal that led to his great downfall, transformed into a physically powerful, but damaged being who could no longer live his once great life: Clayface.

Played in Batman: The Animated Series by Ron Pearlman, we're going for a Ron Pearlman sound mixed with narcissim and arrogance.

  • You've upstaged me for the last time, Batman. Time to bring down the curtain.

  • Rules are Rules! If you don’t have a ticket, you can’t see the movie!

  • I'm not an actor anymore. I'm not even... a man!

Tim Drake, a boy, left with nothing after the death of his father, a criminal under the occassional employ for Two-Face, was given a home and a new life by Bruce Wayne/Batman who adopted the boy as his ward and trained him to be his new partner in his war on Crime.

The role of Tim Drake/Robin has been played by several young Actors: Matthew Valencia in The New Batman Adventues, Eli Marienthal in Batman: Mystery Of The Batwoman along with the characters first appearance in Static Shock, and Shane Sweet in Drake's second appearance on Static Shock. In Batman: The Adventures Continue, Tim Drake is reaching his teen years, and while the voice doesnt truly need to sound like any of the three actors who've played Drake throughout the DCAU, Drake's voice needs to be youthful and fun, but also serious at times.

  • Hero time!

  • Sorry we’re late, but we can’t wait to spoil your fun.

  • Nothing Goo-man can fling that I can’t handle.

A Well-Known villain in DC's Lore, but new to the BTAS Lore. Slade Wilson, a former soldier, is as cunning, strategic and skilled of a mercenary as he is a ruthless enemy for DC Characters including Batman, Green Arrow, Dick Grayson, and The Teen Titans.  When we first meet the character In Batman: The Adventures Continue, Deathstroke/Slade Wilson gives commendation to Batman's allies and offers them tutalege and an alliance, but as the story continues, Slade has a much more sinister plan in motion for both Batman and his allies.

For the voice of Deathstroke/Slade Wilson, I'm going for the sound of Miguel Ferrer who played the character in the 2017 animated film Teen Titans: The Judas Contract mixed with a bit of the version of the character played by Michael Chiklis in the CW Seed series Deathstroke: Knights and Dragons. For those auditioning, but unfamilar with these versions of the character,  simply give the character a seasoned meance in the guise of a mentor figure.

  • Takes a unique fighter to bring down a thrill-crazed maniac at 2 hundred miles per hour.

  • It appears, the game is over, before it even begins.

  • I’m just saying, there is a bigger theatre for a woman of your talents. You could go far under my supervision.

The fearless, determined leader of the Gotham City Police Department who works with Batman to protect Gotham. James Gordon, who knows taking down even Gotham's most dangerous criminals requires thinking outside the box, trusts a man who is call a Wild Card and a Vigilante to fight the Criminal Underworld in ways Gordon and his GCPD compatriots can't.

Originally played in Batman: The Animated Series by Bob Hastings, the Bob Hasting sound, and a voice with a strong stance on Justice, is the voice we're going for, with this character.

  • Gotta keep fighting, never stop. What I try to live by. Maybe if I'd been younger, I could have been like you. Always wanted to be a hero.

  • Even Interpol doesn’t have much. A few blurry pictures…and a name…Slade Wilson.

  • I've had Bullock collect the remains of the contraband Batwoman destroyed. I thought you might like to take a look.

Originally played in Batman: The Animated Series by Mark Rolston, for this character, we're going for a hotheaded, narcessitc anarchist with a cocky edge.

  • Fires need fuel. Chemicals are expensive.

The First, and greatest Superhero ever to leap from the pages of a comic strip to the Pop Culture scene.  Born on a distant world, far from our own, Kal-El of Krypton, came to earth as an orphaned child. IInspite of being imbued with powers and abilties beyond those of mortal men by the rays of Earth's yellow sun, Kal-El would work to instill the values of Truth and Justice, and most of all, Hope, taught to him by his adoptive parents, in the people of Earth while also working to defend and protect the weak and oppressed from those who would step on them like ants. Superman's optimistic, hopeful and ofter naive personality puts him at odds with Batman's more serious and cynical attitude, and who's methods Superman disagrees with.

However, over time,  and despite their differences, The Man Of Steel and The Dark Knight come to respect and trust one another, working together various times to save innocents from the forces of evil.

Played by Tim Daly in Superman: The Animated Series and by George Newbern in Justice League and Justice League Unlimited, the direction I'm going for Superman, even though it's not a big role for the character in this story, is a combo of the best things Tim Daly and George Newbern brought to this iconic character in this take on the DC Universe.

  • We're all hear because each of us, in our own way...fights with the hope of a better tomorrow.

  • Just happened to be in the neighborhood?

  • It was Darkside. He's stripped me of my memory, turned me loose to destory everything I've ever loved. First the invasion of Earth, then the murder of Dan Turpin. Now Supergirl's life is hanging by a thread, and I'm an outcast...Darkside's responsible for all of it.

A New, Original character to the BTAS Canon. Sunny is the protege of Deathstroke, just as deadly, smart and cunning as the Terminator...Batgirl gone wrong.

  • Then again, I couldn’t really get a sense of her through the window of a speeding Van. Everyone in the underworld knew Hagan was desperate for a cure. Posing as a nameless drug dealer, it was easy to supply him with an “antidote” that secretly increased his paranoia and savagery. Once Hagen began his rampage, the Bat-Family was assured.

  • Not Funny, Slade. You never said we'd be facing him, this soon.
