Ask The Rag Dolly is a tumblr ask blog created by Mod Bee! So all art used belongs to her. I would highly suggest reading the comic for yourself, even if you aren’t auditioning because it’s amazing.

I’m begging yall to please be patient with me as this is basically the first time I’m doing something like this!

It’s a story about Ragatha being infected with a virus, which takes the form of the anon askers, who manifest as voices in her head. Wacky hijinks ensue as Ragatha is basically just going crazy the whole time.

⚠️ THOUGHTS OF SUICIDE, SELF-HARM, MENTAL ILLNESS, VOMITING, AND INTRUSIVE THOUGHTS ARE BROUGHT UP DURING THIS COMIC. IF ANY OF THESE THINGS TRIGGER YOU, I WOULD SUGGEST YOU DON’T AUDITION, AS SOME OF THEM ARE VERY PROMINENT. ⚠️

This is a long-term project, as the comic isn't finished yet, and the two phases that are out already, are very long. I hope that by the time we finish dubbing both phases, we'll at least have some new content.

[REQUIERMENTS]

  • I’m not asking for any crazy quality mics, just for you to have minimal backgroud noise!

  • Give me some emotions! It doesn’t matter if your voice sounds exactly like any of the original cast, because if your emotions are flat, why would I be engaged in what you’re saying?

  • Have Discord! That will be the main form of communication.

CASTING WILL OCCUR AFTER THE DEADLINE SO THAT EVERYONE HAS A CHANCE TO GET AUDITIONS IN BEFORE I MAKE A DECISION.

    After staying up until 12:30 last night finishing the script, and making some very hard decisions while trying to pick the cast out of this sea of FUCKING INCREDIBLE talent, I've finally picked out a cast that I'm happy with.

    Please keep in mind that the Anons will be played by multiple people, and I will find a way to make that work!

    As for those who didn't make it in, You all did so well, and I sincerely hope that you all move on to work on wonderful projects. Thank you all for auditioning.

  • !! DEADLINE EXTENSION !!

    Hello everyone!

    Firstly, I want to say thank you all for your wonderful auditions! You all have done a wonderful job, and I've definitely been going over these auditions with some other people and trying to stick down some decisions.

    Now here's the important part:

    The deadline is being extended to DECEMBER 10TH, due to a few personal reasons that will take my focus off of this project for a bit, but also because I've slightly miscalculated the amount of time it would take for me to actually write out the script for this dub. I realized extremely late that I should write the script at all, so that's completely my fault.

    That's all i really needed to say teehee!! Remeber to slay chat.

Caine is the eccentric ringmaster of the circus! He’s dragged into the wacky shenanigans as he tries to help Ragatha get rid of the voices in her head. He’s not really a major character until a bit into the comic. Caine is mostly pretty loud with everything he does. He’s not exactly yelling? He just is the loudest person in the room whenever he’s in it, so maybe try and think about that while reading for him?

The voices. How wonderful. The anons in this ask blog are the embodiment of the virus. This role will not be filled by one person, so if you are selected, you will probably get a DM from me on discord as long as your information is in your audition. The voices in Ragatha’s head can be both friendly and extremely evil, so I’d like to see how you can become flexible with the type of character you might need to portray at different times. Pomni, oh lord. Pomni is the OG protagonist of The Amazing Digital Circus. She’s not a very prominent character in the comic however. She shows up for a good chunk of the beginning, and is phased out later. She’s very good at catching onto Ragatha’s bullshitting her way out of caring about herself. She’s still adjusting to the circus, so she’s still a bit on edge. She cares about Ragatha though, so she tries to help her the best she can.

Gangle is probably one of the characters in this comic with the least amount of lines, next to Kinger. She's not the most dynamic character at this time? She's usually shown without her comedy mask on in the comic, so you'd have to use a sort of sad/almost whiny voice for her.

Kinger also doesn't have many lines, like he doesn't really show up all that much. He's present for a good chunk of Phase 1, but after that he only really has one other scene. Kinger is a very odd chaarcter. It seems like he's able to randomly switch from completley lucid, to having no idea where he is. For this role, you'll need to easily be able to switch from emotion to emotion at a moments notice.
