Are You Really Bout' it?
Project Overview
Are you Really Bout' it? is a student film being worked on by a team of seniors at University of Wisconsin, Stout. We are a team of three writing and animating the film in 2D, aiming for a 3-4 minute film by the end of the year.
Story: The story follows Maddi, a 23 year old woman who is attending her nieces baptism. During the baptism, as Maddi sits in a pew, a blue ghostly hand comes up from the ground and drags Maddi to a void world under the church. Maddi is met face to face with the angel who controls the ghostly hand, but he appears to be an urban looking man. The angel gives Maddi the option/ultimatum to help her niece, who will eventually develop a disease where she looses memories. The option Maddi faces is to either give up her own memories of her sister in exchange for her niece to not develop the disease, or to go back to the church and forget the conversation ever happened.
Note:
-Maddi is the lead character, though the angel talks the most in the short film.
-We will send the animatic/plan for the animation with our placeholder voices for context to the final Voice actors.
-When the project is complete, we will send you the video, which will credit everyone who worked on the project.
-At the end of the year, the film will be screened to the public in our local theatre, along with our classmates films! (credits at the end)
We look forward to your auditions!

(Talking to herself/narrating intro) “I still can’t believe I’m an aunt, and that my little niece is four months old already. It’s true what they say, they grow up fast.”
(Talking to her sister: Sniffling/ holding back tears) "Oh, me? Yeah..you know, I'm just getting sentimental about how grown up we've gotten. I mean, you've got a kid now. How crazy is that?"
(Approaching her sister and her baby) "Look at you guyss! And look at her! Gosh, she is just such a cutie! Can I hold her?"
Mary's (The baby being baptized) guardian angel who asks Maddi for help/ gives her an ultimatum.
Voice: Very slight/subtle Boston or New York accent, uses slang. Accent and slang isn't too overbearing that it's distracting from the story. (like, really subtle, mostly just american accent)
Despite being animated characters, they wont have overly animated voices. Please do lines as if you would normally talk to someone.

(After asking Maddi if she would do anything for her niece) “Good, pay attention lady, I can’t talk to you for long. I’m Mary's guardian angel, and I’m here about your niece's future.”
(Talking to Maddi) “If you want to go through with this sacrifice, then all you have to do is kiss Mary's forehead before she leaves the church. If you don't do this, you will forget our conversation here ever took place, and the disease will spread and take Mary's memory.
(Talking to Maddi) “Nah, I'm being for real. I’ll give you the rest of the service to think about this and make a decision.”
Just as caring as her sister, Maddi. It's her baby's baptism and she's glad to be there with her husband and sister.

(See's Maddi is crying after holding Mary) “Uhh, Maddi, is everything alright?
(Talking to Maddi, smiling) "Yeah. Time flies by. I was just telling Chris that I think the last time I was in front of a church was when we had to recite a bible verse for the middle school Christmas program. You remember that? The passage didn't have enough verses for each kid to have their own, so they partnered us up for the same verse. But when it was our turn, you were too shy to speak, so you just stood there while I did all the talking. *Chuckles* That's just one of those little things I’ll never forget. "
