ALONE TOGETHER | Audio Drama
Who are you?
Hello! My name is A. J. Agreste, or AJ for short. I'm a writer and podcaster. I've been creating dramatized versions of my stories on my podcast, Bursts From Pentasia.
What is this project?
SYNOPSIS
With her mom constantly out of the house and no one to talk to at school, 12-year-old Mona has no trouble rushing into the forest when it mysteriously calls out her name. When Mona is pulled into another world, she is greeted by a red-haired boy named Peter, who insists on spending time with her. But whenever Mona thinks about home, Peter distracts her with fun and games. Will Mona gain newfound comfort, or will this dreamscape become a nightmare?
This short story has already been posted on various writing platforms. I now intend to give it new life by adding voice acting, narration, music, and sound effects. The final product will be posted on my podcast, Bursts From Pentasia, where my other audio dramas live. I expect the final length of the story to be around 65 to 75 minutes long, broken up into four parts.
What are the requirements for this project?
You must have a proper microphone with minimal background noise. I'm not picky about the microphone that you use, as long as the quality is fine.
You must have Discord and be willing to join a Discord studio server.
You must meet deadlines. Please don't make me chase you for recorded lines.
When Auditioning:
Feel free to introduce yourself briefly. I like getting to know who I may be working with.
Use ABCABC format. You may vary your voice or emotion in your interpretation of the character.
Feel free to adlib at the end, if you so desire.
Please only audition via CCC. It's very useful for keeping everything organized. If you DM me on my socials asking to submit auditions there, I will say no.
What do I do if I'm cast?
If I cast you for a role, I will contact you through Casting Call Club and invite you to the studio Discord.
I may extend the deadline if I deem it necessary. Please keep an eye on this page for any updates.

Main Character
Mona is 12-year-old girl who's used to only having a dog to talk to. She's been forced to be independent and self-reliant. To pass the time, she's acquired various skills like cooking, cleaning, and gardening. She craves friendship and a family that's present. She's introverted yet can be empathetic and open when comfortable. Though she can be gloomy when dwelling on her circumstances, she can be lighthearted and sarcastic when interacting with her pup.
This character does have scenes that are high-stress and emotionally charged. So, I'll need someone who can deliver those authentically.

Doesn't it get kind of lonely when it’s just you? Shasta helps to keep the quiet away, but you don't even have a goldfish to talk to.
With just a snap of my fingers, I could have stacks of cash. Then my mom wouldn’t have to work so much.

Will need to deliver long strings of text while expressing the unspoken emotions of the characters. Will need to avoid sounding dry and monotone.

As she walked by, everyone around her was chatting. About her? No. No one talked about her.
Sometimes, Mona wondered if she even remembered what her mom looked like. Or maybe she's just being dramatic.
She let out a chuckle. No matter what, she won't cry. What good would that do? If she wailed at the top of her lungs, would her mom come running back to her? No. She had to work. No way around it.

Peter is a 13 year old boy who is jovial and charismatic. Almost every sentence is delivered with a smile. However, people are usually more interested in the entertainment he provides than Peter himself. He's unfamiliar with questions directed at him personally and usually tries to distract with more fun. Due to years of isolation and temporary friends, a part of him is broken, desperate, and unhinged.
This character does have scenes that are high-stress and emotionally charged. So, I'll need someone who can deliver those authentically.

A kind, old lady who lives in town. She likes to check up on Mona and goes out of her way to bake her sweets.
