Akatsuki no Yona Manga Dub
Project Overview
After having recently discovered this incredibly brilliant manga and subsequent anime, I would love the chance to dub some of the manga that the anime never included.
This is my first manga dub, and I'm very excited to take on the challenge of something different than the other projects I've directed.
The story tells of a 16-year-old princess, Princess Yona, who's life is forever changed when she witnesses her father being killed by her cousin and love interest, Soo-Won. In order to avoid being killed as well, she and her childhood friend and bodyguard, Son Hak, must flee the castle and live as fugitives. Yona and Hak begin a long journey with their new friend, Yoon, to find the legendary Dragon Warriors in order to protect Yona and help her kingdom that is in more peril than she ever realized. The White Dragon, Kija, has a powerful hand that can claw through anything. The Blue Dragon, Shin-Ah, can see extremely far distances and paralyze anyone just by looking in their eyes. The Green Dragon, Jae-Ha, has a powerful leg that allows him to jump high and deliver intense kicks. The Yellow Dragon, Zeno, is an immortal being with hard skin that will block the most dangerous substances. Yona experiences a personal journey of growth and slowly begins to see that the kingdom her father ruled is nothing like she believed it to be. Many cities are poverty-stricken, and it's up to the rightful princess of the kingdom to set things right with her new group of warriors.
The chapters that will be dubbed are 49-51, 77-93 (Water Tribe Arc), and short scenes from Chapters 128, 134, and 137.
Chapters 49-51 contain the usually quiet and tame Shin-Ah losing himself to his power and Yona calling him back in order to keep him from killing anyone.
The Water Tribe Arc deals with Yona and the Dragon Warriors teaming up with the daughter of the Water Tribe and her servants to defeat the rise of a mysterious and dangerous drug. And an unconventional meeting with an old acquaintance...
The short scenes will deal with Yona coming to terms with her new feelings for Hak.
The chapters will be uploaded to my Youtube channel in numerical order. Seeing as this is my first time completing a project like this, it might take me a little longer to figure out how I want it to look. But it will get done within a very reasonable amount of time. I can only begin working on chapters once I receive all lines for that chapter.
If cast for the project, you will receive the scripts for all the necessary chapters for your character at one time and be given a month to record your portions. I will extend the deadline by two weeks if necessary only once. After the second missed deadline, I will recast the character. I will also be handing out a Pronunciation List to ensure that all names and words are pronounced the same by all characters.
Please have decent recording equipment for both your audition and if later cast for the character. Use the same mic for both unless you acquire a better mic between the date of your audition and the time you are cast.
I would like you to sound a little similar to the original voice actors, but more importantly, bring your own uniqueness to the role. Don't hold back on emotions in your auditions. I'd much rather cast someone who delivers a wonderful amount of emotion to the lines and sounds nothing like the original voice actor than someone who does sound like the original voice actor and delivers no emotion.

A womanizer and sweet-talker; believes in maintaining his own destiny and not the Dragon's destiny written for him; teases Hak a lot, but when it comes down to it, he will protect the others with his life
