Aberrant: Foundations
Project Overview
What is Aberrant: Foundations?
Aberrant: Foundations tells the story of two characters using their supernatural abilities to uphold their distinct views of justice. Amelia Wright- a 19 year old college dropout and police academy fluke who dreams of avenging his father by destroying the criminal organization that disrupted the local city's peace. Mason Nava- an 18 year old high school graduate who only cares about making his friend and family feel safe while changing the public perception of Aberrants.
Both live in a world where Aberrants- super powered individuals- make up around 5% of the world's global population in the year 2079. Fearing the potential destruction these group of individuals can create, from fears of accidental school deaths to organized aberrant crime, the United States government has been proposing legislation to control and spy on Aberrants in the name of law and order.
What is the plot of Aberrant: Foundations?
Three young adults joined Vigil's Eye, an aberrant vigilante group, in hopes of stopping a superpowered criminal organization known as The Valley Syndicate. The Syndicate has grown powerful, allegedly working for political candidates and silencing their immediate threats. It is during this time period that both Mason and Amelia have suffered losses and both begin to question their methods and sense of duty. Everything they have worked for will be determined in one night- whether that is for the best or for the worst.
Alright, so where does it take place? Real life city or fictional?
The setting is based off a real life location. Located in South Texas, McAllen is currently known as a profitable city that mostly makes its income from retail. In Aberrant: Foundations, it is in the middle of turning itself into one of the country's highest earning cities. It will be an exagerrated metropolis, while the areas outside from McAllen will retain its current present look with slight alterations.
What's the timeline?
I plan on finishing the script by November/Decemeber of this year. The rest all depends on how fast everything else functions and how much I should be asking from everyone. Even though this is a serious project, keeping it calm and steady is the best approach. I can only ballpark the end of production, but the pilot is planned to be finished in Late 2019 or Early 2020. Late 2019 would mean to have all production done at a fast pace. This all 100% depends on how many stills and layers should be drawn and be modified in post production.
[As of 12/19/2018, the script is scheduled to be done by February - March 2019.]
What do you have so far?
We are currently on Chapter 03 of Chapter 03 in the Pilot. The artist is currently working on illustrations from the first chapter and the composer is currently sketching a few ideas for the characters.
How will this project be presented?
It is planned to be a 26-30 minute long, character driven audio drama with visual stills. It will be uploaded to YouTube.
Will you expand on the plot after the pilot?
It all depends on the reception this project recieves!
Why is there no video?
As of 21/12/2018, I am currently working on an explainer video that should be released by Feburary!
As of 3/3/2019, A teaser or trailer video should be uploaded in the span of a few months on here and in the YouTube channel linked below.
Will this project remain free?
Yes. I don't have or make a lot of money from the job I work. I don't work in the United States, so it would not be fair to promise something that I can't give.
Is this a serious project?
Yes! Although, you're always free to leave if you are not satisfied with the direction of the project or the character you are voicing.

There has been a good amount of progress on Aberrant: Foundations so far! I plan on making an explanatory video soon and a teaser that will be posted on the social media handle that can be found in the casting call page. Now that I have finally finished Chapter 02/03 for the Pilot itself, I think it's a good time for anyone who has previously auditioned for a role to give these next few roles a shot! The deadline is set for about 3-4 weeks, but I will be constantly extending it until most or all roles are closed. It is through your participation that this project has been slowly becoming a reality. I really cannot truly express my gratitude well enough, but thank you! If you wish to be kept up to date on all progress outside of CC, please follow @AFoundProject on Twitter!

Thank you for your auditions!
There has been an incredible amount of responses for this casting call. I appreciate every single voice actor that has taken interest into this project and to those who have been casted, congratulations on being able to voice these characters that I have been crafting for over a year and a half! I hope everyone here loves the idea of this story just as much as I do! -
Casting decisions will be made on the day of the deadline.
This might be common sense, but I did forget to include this in the description. Thank you for participating as we are drawing closer to 20 auditions! -
Deadline has been pushed back for 2 weeks!
I actually did not expect there to be so many auditions! I decided to push the end date just a little bit so that there can be more opportunities for others who might be interested in the project. Please feel free to share this with your friends or associates if you feel like they could be interested in Aberrant: Foundations!
Voice:
- A thick but soft spoken voice in public. Makes a convincing appealing voice to whoever is in need of help. Nothing high pitched.
- Must be able to shout or yell for a handful of scenes.
Character:
- Dedicated to do good with his vigilante ventures, but is unorganized in his daily life. Leaves a lot of important tasks until the last minute.
- Usually self absorbed but not self centered. Socially awkward, but okay enough to get by with other people.
- Usually calm with his emotional reactions, never sounds too dramatic.
- Mason always tries to look at the bright side of things, even if he personally doesn't think that there's anything positive to look at.
- Is not willing to sacrifice, heavily prefers scenarios with low risk.
[Laid back tone] I'm just saying that you could have looked at the bigger picture. Chase Bank, take hostages for ransom, that cheap Chinese place with the all you can eat buffet. You had so many options, buddy!
[Disappointment, slightly leaning on a laid back tone.] The point is that the only reason you failed tonight is because you're the lamest fucking burglar I've come across.
[Concerned] You really should be more concerned about Vanguard than the pineapple pizza, Adam.
Voice:
- Bold voice when repressing her emotions. Obviously honeyed when talking to the public. Wobbly when emotional.
- Must be able to sustain shouts for just a handful of scenes, akin to something Dragonball-ish.
Character:
- Self centered and stoic. Has made a habit of repressing her emotions since the death of a family friend. A literal ticking time bomb of emotions.
- Friends with Mason, but their relationship has been strained recently.
- Independent, but prone to obsesses over the loss of her parent.
- Has very few friends. Usually behaves positive around civilians and mutual friends, family.
- Strong willed. One of the strongest aberrants in the country.
[Frustrated] No, it needs to be me. I told you this already, Tact. No one else is going to finish what I started.
[Neutral tone] I don't care about your idealistic goals, Mason. While we find whoever runs that organization, you better not fuck it up for the three of us. Got it?
[Feel free to have fun with this slot! Not mandatory.]
Voice:
- A calm, silvery voice.
- Vocal range that's strong enough for emotional moments when needed.

- Is normally the man of reason in heated discussions. Has a talent for defusing hostile situations.
- Strained relationship with Vanguard as of late.
- Organized and plans every night run. All actions committed by Vangaurd and Cerulean are pre-planned, by turning in criminals in the county precinct
[Frustrated] No, sorry. Vanguard hasn't been easy to work with lately. Let's talk about this when you're done.
[Neutral] Palenque or Little C's, you choose tonight. Not a whole lot of stuff is usually open this late.
[Ecstatic] There's our runner, I'll provide a birds' eye view of the scenario. Don't slow down and we might just get some new info.
Voice:

- Firm in the general public, but doesn't maintain a formal appearance like Mason and Amelia.

- Does not waver on any goal she set herself out to do.
[Energetic/Running] "Up and at 'em, come on! I'm gonna turn those 50 laps into 100 if you don't pick up the pace, Mason!"
[Courteous -> Annoyed] "Thanks for all the hard work you do, officer! Freaking Syndicate bootlicker..."
[Gloomy] "Hey, Cerulean. By the time you see this, it'll be a while before I'm gone. Knowing you, you'd... Avoid this room. Too many memories, that's something we can both agree on."
Voice:
- Nothing in mind, have fun with this one!
Character:
- AURA is their own person, providing almost all kinds of assistance whether it is something casual or serious.
- Although a smart A.I, it is capable of understanding and appealing to the human emotions differently, depending on the person.
- Fast and efficent; best shines in combat and escape scenarios during Vigil's Eye missions gone south.
- Almost always jubilant and easy to talk to.
[Greeting] "I am A.U.R.A, short for Analitical Unique Response Apparatus. I exist to provide aid in or out of Vigil's Eye operations, so please do not shy away from any inquiry."

[Skeptical] "Well, whenever people stop talking about their me-me's, I'll believe you."
[Concerned] "When we found out that you had to live with that thing, I was scared that you would use it to hurt people."
Voice:
- Teasing, sly voice.
- Forcefully honeyed.
Character:
- Malefactor at heart, Fye loves to bring out the worst out of her targets.

- Indifferent to any task he is given, so long as he is paid.
- Despises Aberrant vigilantism.
[Calm] "No backup? You've grown awfully confident this time around. That will be your last mistake."
[Annoyed] "Arrogant brat. Fine. Let us skip the warm-ups."
[Anger] "Defeated or not, nothing would change. Why do you still fight!?"
"Stop whatever you are doing and put your hands out in the air, NOW!"

[Scared] "We normally don't meet with the Valley, but you're right. I know a guy who knows someone who can-"
[Petrified] "No. No, no. Please, that's all I know. Come on! That's all I know!"
Honestly, I am looking for a team of two to work on this. Preferably, a lead of two who love the idea of working on a sci-fi, superhero story. You must have an established artstyle and a history of completing multiple personal or commissioned pieces. I only ask for three things:
- Be honest. Take initiative when you have a problem with my requests.
- Be creative. Don't just adhere to my requests, feel free to add a stylistic choice if you'd like.
- Be interested. Really think about this before applying. If you'd like to work in this passion project with me, then I would be very grateful if you love the premise and direction I want to take this story to.
Be the one who brings this world to life with the stroke of a stylus.
