Project Overview
About Beauty and the Beast
An arrogant young prince (Robby Benson) and his castle's servants fall under the spell of a enchantress, who turns him into the hideous Beast until he learns to love and be loved in return. The spirited, headstrong village girl Belle (Paige O'Hara) enters the Beast's castle after he imprisons her father Maurice (Rex Everhart). With the help of his enchanted servants, including the matronly Mrs. Potts (Angela Lansbury), Belle begins to draw the cold-hearted Beast out of his isolation.
Conditions:
$150 is paid for the cast audition. No additional lines beyond the audition will be required or needed. The audition has all the lines in the script and for this project.
Payment:
Paid by Paypal one day after the deadline. Please have a Paypal account ready.
REQUIREMENTS:
Ideally an XLR microphone. The mic quality doesn't have to necessarily be at a TLM 103/Sennheiser MKH 416 but I'm looking for something that all voice actors would consider acceptable ie AT 2020 XLR, AT 2035, AT 4040, CAD E100s, Rode NT1a, etc.
Ideally audio with no reverb, plosives, tinniness, peaking, etc. If you don't have a great microphone, please don't be discouraged and please still audition as I still favor great acting.
Why Belle in Beauty and the Beast?
Because I actually felt the actress, Paige O'Hara was amazing in Beauty and the Beast. Her ability to show an entire range of emotions is what I personally feel is important in acting. Everything from anger, grief, happiness, sorrow, thankfulness, joy, love, fright, fear, affection, distress, disgust, suspicion, etc. The lines in this audition are actually the lines that were used in the original audition from Disney.

Winners announcement
Official announcement: There were fantastic auditions from everyone and everyone did awesome. I really loved Cesteel's performance here. She did amazing in tackling each emotion throughout the lines. I also wanted to include 2 co-winners as well. I'm including SerenaPaige as well who did awesome as well! Also including dasiavou. Dasiavou has 27 pages of auditions and it's very clear that she loves acting. Would love to upgrade her microphone. Merry Christmas everyone! Sending PMs to all three folks! -

Hi there! Just a friendly reminder that A Unique Audition's deadline will be on December 24th at 11:59 PM (Pacific time). Payment will be sent on Christmas, December 25th. No additional lines will be required after this audition. Payment will be finalized on December 25th. -You do not have to sound like the original actress. I care more about the acting. -There will be more than one winner. So please do not be discouraged if you see other auditions that you feel "sound like Belle" as I'm not just looking for that but more about your acting, and your passion for acting.

Please view the video for the sound signature. I am not looking for an actress to sound like the original actress. Feel free to use your natural speaking voice. The guidelines below are preferred. The only exception is the accent. It has to be North-American.
Vocal Range: Soprano (Low A-High F)
Accent: North-American (Cannot accept a British accent or any other accent)
Age: 24 to 28
BELLE: Belle is the original fairy tale heroine–kind, gentle, and beautiful. She is a strong, intelligent, spirited and an independent young woman. Belle is the moral conscience of the story, elevated by her thoughts and deeds. The maturity and depth of her character allow her to see the true beauty and spirit within The Beast.
Context and requirements for the lines:
The majority of these lines were the actual audition lines for the role of Belle in Beauty and the Beast. For this project, you only need to act these lines and nothing else. Payment of $150 is sent on December 25, 2018 to the chosen actress.

(He continues to warn her and tells her to leave him)

(Terror) (Fear)(Belle hears a roar and a manner of speech that isn’t human. She hears a swift movement through the shadows as items are torn from the wall. She’s alarmed, frightened and terrified)
Who's there?!!!!!! …………………………………….
LINE 4
(Fear)(terror) (terrified)(Someone is angry with Belle and begins throwing furniture and tearing everything around her. She’s frightened, terrified and confused. Everything is happening as a direct consequence of her actions)
"I'm sorry!!!........(frightened)...........Please …stop!!

(grief) (anger) (sorrow)(Belle’s father is taken away and she knows that she will never see him again. She says the following lines to her captor. Anger mixed with sorrow)
You didn't even let me say goodbye….(crying) (sniffling)………. I'll………I’ll never see him again...(crying)(tears flowing)…………..(grief)...I didn't get to say goodbye.

(Thankful) (Wonderment) (Awe)(Beast brings Belle to the library with every intention of letting her having it. He wanted to do something to show how much he cared for her.)
