History: Masumi grew up very curious. As a child she was always exploring new places in public and in her house. Around the time she hit 7, Masumi began to explore the forest behind her house. One day while she was exploring she discovered a decaying library overrun with weeds and vines. Upon closer inspection, the inside of this library was still being kept in tact by a teenage girl named Hatsumi. Hatsumi showed her around and explained to Masumi her love of books and how since she was little she always wanted to own a library. As the two girls grew closer, Masumi began to find a growing love of novels and just the quaint feel of owning a library. They continued to work to keep the abandoned library as functional as they could (fixing up the shelves with the help of Masumi’s older brothers, sweeping up the floors, cutting down the vines and working on clearing a path to the main road). Before they could finish, Hatsumi caught a fatal illness and died, leaving Masumi to continue working on the library. By the time Masumi hit 12 (5 years after Hatsumi’s death), the library had been refurbished and could be opened for the public, Masumi assuming the role as librarian. The library was named Hatsumi’s Library after the girl who introduced her to books. (Inspired by The Ancient Magus Bride)

Personality: Masumi, although usually keeping to herself, is very curious. She is commonly mistaken as either an airhead or shy. Worries about making close friends as she believes it would be replacing Hatsumi.

Range: High. Rarely raises her voice but her natural curiosity should be reflected in her voice.
