A veteran member of the travel team. College-age while most of the team's new arrivals are still in high school, Matt has already spent three years skating for the Carnage and naturally falls into a leadership role among the younger players. When Coach Rydell is mysteriously hospitalized, Matt steps up to run drills, organize practices and keep the team moving in his absence. Grounded, confident and a little more mature than the younger players without sounding like one of the adults. Matt is comfortable taking charge, but his authority should feel natural rather than bossy. He's still one of the boys; he just tends to be the one who remembers when it's time for the boys to knock it off.

The sides they read from:
(Running drills in the Coach's absence.) Alright Ghost! Last one, make it count!
(Firmly shutting down a run of poorly timed jokes.) Boys. Birdy behavior. Let's keep it to the ice.
(Taking charge after learning Coach Rydell may be gone for some time.) Speaking of which: fellas, let's meet back here tomorrow morning same time. The man's laid up but he's counting on us.
