Oh, I don’t know about ‘famous.’ I sang a song or two when I was younger, but my days on the stage are long past. Now I’m just Edie.
It was lovely to reminisce about the past. The stages, the costumes, the crowd. I got a bit misty-eyed remembering it all. Of course, that was when I had Robert by my side. My husband was a real charmer, you know. He used to bring me flowers after every show. Our house was full of them. As soon as you’d open the door, you’d smell the peonies. I think I miss that most of all.
No, no, she’s a delight! Either she’s wiser than her years, or I’m far more foolish than mine — but the two of us get along like a house on fire. And then there’s Dorothy, of course! Dotty's a bit of a fruitcake, truth be told…but a charming fruitcake nonetheless.
