Edrelda should have a mature, controlled voice with an authoritative presence that commands attention without needing to raise its volume. Her speech should be precise and deliberate, with very little unnecessary emotion or hesitation. She should sound accustomed to being obeyed and almost incapable of entertaining the possibility that she could be wrong. When criticizing someone, especially her daughters, she should favor quiet disappointment and calculated remarks over outright shouting. However, there should be moments where her composure cracks slightly when her ideals are challenged, revealing the intensity beneath her restraint.

  • Your defiance was tolerable when you were a child. Now? It’s an annoyance.
