I’m a writer focused on character voice, dialogue, narrative cohesion, and taking existing ideas or messy material and helping them click into place.
My favorite trick is making people laugh first.
Silly humor gets the audience comfortable. It gets them attached to the characters. It makes them drop their guard.
Which is exactly when the dagger of drama and trauma goes in easiest.
I love stories that can be genuinely funny without sacrificing emotional weight, and genuinely painful without becoming self-serious all the time. The symbol of dramaturgy is the laughing mask and the crying mask for a reason, after all.
Also, the tears are very tasty and go wonderfully with tea.
I’m especially comfortable with brainstorming, dialogue polish, character dynamics, narrative structure, continuity, setup and payoff, and finding ways to seed little details early so they can matter later.
Give me characters, a setting, some half-finished ideas, or a script that almost works, and I’ll happily start pulling at the threads.
