Zhan Qinmo is one of the two male leads of The Evil God Who Raised Me, an original Chinese queer dark romantasy / cosmic horror project.

He is an elegant, godlike manipulator: beautiful, patient, intimate, and terrifyingly controlled. He does not need to raise his voice to dominate a room. His power comes from stillness, precision, and emotional possession.

Voice direction: smooth, intimate, emotionally magnetic, restrained, darkly romantic, and quietly dangerous. He should feel warm enough to draw someone closer, but cold enough to remind you that he is not human. Think divine arrogance, obsessive tenderness, psychological control, and dangerous gentleness.

Voice / tone references: Hearts & Colors’ “For the Love” and the EMO version of “The End.” These references are for smooth intimate texture, dark romantic atmosphere, emotional magnetism, restraint, melancholy, and dangerous tenderness.

Please do not imitate the singers or perform the audition as singing. This is spoken character acting. The goal is to capture a similar emotional color and vocal intimacy while creating an original performance for Zhan Qinmo.

He should not sound cartoonishly evil, theatrical, melodramatic, or like a generic villain. The ideal performance is subtle, intelligent, predatory, seductive without being oily, and emotionally layered. He can be gentle, but the gentleness should feel like a trap.

Animation-style, audio drama, visual novel, and cinematic performance styles are welcome.
