Queen Oren

Oh, you needn't bow so low! While I hold the crown, I prefer to meet my friends as equals. The bond between the Zoras and the surface world is something I cherish deeply. My heart swells with joy whenever I see travelers appreciating the gifts of our rivers. To rule is not to sit high above on a throne, but to nurture and protect the fragile life around us. If you ever find yourself weary from your long journeys, know that our waters will always be here to wash away your exhaustion.

I used to spend my mornings swimming through the river before I ever had a crown to worry about. My mother would call for me from the palace steps, and I would pretend not to hear her until she threatened to come after me herself. I suppose some things never change. Even now, I sometimes find myself slipping away from the palace just to sit by the water and listen to it. The river has always been the one place where I never had to be a queen. I could simply be myself.

The waters... they are growing so terribly cold. I can feel the gentle pull of the current, drawing my spirit away from the domain I have loved so dearly. Do not weep for me, my sweet Zoras. A river must eventually reach the vast, endless sea, and my time to flow onward has come. Hold fast to one another, keep our sacred streams pure, and never let the darkness muddy the beauty of your hearts. My love will linger in every drop of rain that falls upon Hyrule, watching over you always.
