RED RIBBON SOLDIER — AUDITION GUIDANCE
Voice Type:
Young to middle-aged male voice. Confident, rough, and authoritative. The exact voice can vary between actors, but the character should have a clear sense of military confidence and arrogance.
Character:
Red Ribbon soldiers are trained to follow orders and believe in the organization they’re serving. They’re not necessarily evil people, but they’ve become desensitized to the consequences of their actions.
They don’t particularly care about civilians getting caught in the conflict. To them, completing the mission comes first.
They can be arrogant toward ordinary people and underestimate anyone they consider weaker than themselves. They aren’t afraid to talk trash, issue orders, or casually threaten someone if it helps accomplish the mission.
Voice Direction:
The delivery should sound confident, blunt, and slightly dismissive. Don’t make every soldier sound furious. A casual, almost bored attitude can work especially well because it shows how normal this kind of behavior has become to them.
When fighting or giving orders, they should sound focused and commanding.
“ There! The Dragon Ball! Don’t let them get away!”
“ Search the area! The Dragon Ball has to be here somewhere.”
“ You’re coming with us. Hand over the Dragon Ball and nobody has to get hurt.”
