Scene 1 – City

SFX: Traffic. People talking. Footsteps. Distant sirens. Car horns.

The player exits a small restaurant carrying nothing but a receipt.

He smiles slightly.

Player (Inner Monologue):

“ Damn... that was satisfying.

That dessert was incredible.

Light... sweet... exactly what I needed.”

Walks toward the pedestrian crossing.

Traffic lights change.

He begins crossing.

Scene 2 – Walking

Busy pedestrians pass by.

A cyclist rides past.

Someone laughs nearby.

The player checks the time.

Player (Inner Monologue):

“Fifteen minutes left...

Hopefully I can finish the client's project today.”

He pockets the phone.

His mind drifts.

Everything around him slowly becomes quieter...

Scene 3 – The Accident

A truck approaches far too fast.

SFX

• Engine revving

• Tire screech

• Horn

Nearby people notice.

Woman

“WATCH OUT!”

Man

“MOVE!!”

Another horn.

The player turns—

*BLACK*

A violent impact.

Scene 4 – Between Life and Death

White.

Nothing but white.

No music.

Only ringing in the ears.

The player slowly falls through endless light.

Everything becomes darker.

The light above fades farther away.

Silence.

Player (Inner Monologue)

“...

So... This is it, huh?

I never even got the chance to grow old...”

Darkness consumes everything.

Scene 5 – Limbo

Wind.

Leaves rustling.

Soft piano begins.

Fade in.

A massive ancient oak tree towers overhead.

The player lies beneath it.

Eyes slowly open.

Player:

“...Where am I?”

Sits up, holding their head.

“Ugh...  My head...”

Looks around.

An endless gray field.

Cold wind.

The enormous oak.

Nothing else.

“What... What is this place?”

The player slowly stands.

Long sigh.

Looks around once more.

Far in the distance...

A faint warm light glows between the trees.

The only sign of civilization.

Player:

“Sitting here won't change anything.

I guess... that's my best option.”

Player control begins.
