BACKGROUND:
Henry always had a mind for business, selling lemonades at a calculated mark-up. His father made sure to teach him about the value of a dollar and how the world was full of people trying to snatch yours. So he had a healthy distrust of people and an in-built drive to make money every day.
Henry met a young William Kane in business school. Their friendship eventually materialized a textile company split 50/50 between them, which saw great success in the early 1940s. However things turned difficult after WW2. William was convinced the business would pick up again, but Henry wanted to take the business into a new direction. Their disagreement had no chance to resolve before William’s death, which left Henry with full control of their company. In the eyes of a certain detective, that would certainly be sufficient motive for murder.

Base: “Little busy here, detective. How about you ask your questions so I can go on with my day, eh?”
Mocking: “You know, I think I’ve heard of your little ‘agency’. Tell me, does it pay well, being a little lapdog for the police?”
Seething: “You think you can come into a man’s business and talk to him this way? I oughta put you through the door, detective.”
