BACKGROUND:

Originally from South Carolina, Logan remembered when the USA entered the fold during World War I. Too young for the draft, too old to be shielded from it. It was in those teenage years that he took a good long look at himself and stopped wasting time denying who he was. But the world was not a kind place for gay men. Though he would find fleeting romances in the secret places of the Big Apple, Logan decided that he needed to find something else to pour himself into. And few things demanded more of a person than a career in the police force.

He was a career cop well in his 40s when the Second World War came. Not one to shirk from duty, he enlisted. That was his whole life. Nothing but work. As the years wore him down, he had a chance encounter with a young veteran named Howard Larson who seemed a lost soul. Having no children of his own, Logan helped Howard get back on his feet. He sensed a good heart in the man.

Today Logan is no longer a stickler for procedure. He knows the spirit behind every rule in the book, and it’s that spirit he serves. And if some things take a bit longer, so what? He’s old, only fools rush in, and he’ll make sure it gets done. To help his friend, Logan has brought Howard on to police cases before, in particular those that are complicated or strange like occult-related cases. The whole thing creeps Logan out. He has no idea of the abyss Howard is circling around.
