Basil was a researcher in astrophysics for years before eventually opening his own research facility. He gained his ultimate later in life than most, and is very grateful for it, but is quite humble and insists others deserve equal recognition.
Basil has a low masculine voice. He was written for a British accent, but all accents will be considered. Basil speaks in a polite and intelligent manner. He doesn’t have a very animated voice, and instead takes on a more down to earth style.
Basil’s role is 16+, however he is an older member on the cast so you may have a better chance if you are 18+

(Hesitant, still trying to be polite) My name is Basil Odell, I was fortunate enough to gain the title of ultimate astrophysicist a few years ago. (Pause) May I ask who you are? I don’t seem to remember coming here. It seems unfair not to, when I’ve already told you two things about myself.
(happy) Her optimism is something to be cherished, don’t you think? If she can keep her head up in a place like this, she’s better than the rest of us.
(Polite)I see I’m not the only person who couldn’t sleep. Would you like to join us? I put tea on.
