Director's Notes
Mikado is a character with a wide range of theatrical emotions. He can be silly and flighty one minute, and deathly serious the next. The actor chosen for this role must be able to swap between emotions quickly and express some in a dramatic way.

As previously stated, Mikado has a wide range of emotions. Therefore, his voice should be a Medium to Medium-Low pitch that is slightly flamboyant when energetic, and dark and gruff when angry. Ultimately, he should generally sound like a mix between a stage magician and the Phantom of the Opera.
