Private First Class Jordan “JD” Delaney is an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper, stationed within the 44th Marine Regiment, and a rookie. Jordan has found himself preparing for the fight of his life on his first deployment. Enlisting alongside his friend Private First Class Mia “Dot” Daughtler due to personal circumstances that neither would really like to divulge, Jordan is riddled with doubt about whether or not he has what it takes. This ain’t the life he pictured growing up. As a kid, no one was really sure what was true and what wasn't regarding the war with the covenant However, in 2551, facing his first deployment on Imber, the reality of crashing into a planet in a tear-shaped metal coffin at 800 kilometers an hour has Jordan unsure of everything that has led him to this point. Every motion he makes in his battle uniform, every advisory notice from the shipboard, reminds him he’s a long way from where he came. His friendship with Dot keeps him in check, but deep down, he's not sure he'll be there when it counts.
