Voice Type: Gruff, honest, middle aged, militaristic type. A tough man with a kind heart. A major character and questgiver throughout the game. He doesn't seem particularly interested in power or status, but rather, simply chooses to live an honest life well. Surprisingly, tends to prefer not having to resort to violence if it is avoidable, despite being a Guardian in the Fighters Guild. British or American can both work.

  • [dialogue] Well, it's no matter; I was just curious about your view on the subject. You know, I bet that armor would never hold up to a blow from a blade made of Imperial steel. You are the Guildmaster. I hope you will use your power and influence for the greater good of the Fighters Guild.

  • [combat, SCREAMED] Your head will be my new trophy! Arrrgh! Ungha!

Great reading! I am new here and learning some ropes, do's, don'ts, and tips and have enjoyed your profile. Do you pitch shift your voice? Is that a tool I should have in my kit or is it taboo? Thanks in advance. :)

    First off, thank you!

Second, that is my natural voice. with some practice and effort, you can train your voice to do just about anything!

pitch shifting with technology is actually not good for auditions or recordings, unless it is specifically used by the director or creator of the content you're voicing for. For instance, this casting call wants us to have unedited audio, so they probably have a way to tell if it's been edited by hearing the subtle inflections.

I wouldn't worry about though, cuz if that's your natural voice than wow you got a good strong gravitas that can blow people away! Keep working on inflections, and keep training your voice! Like a muscle, your voice will always keep growing. There's no end to it's potential. After that, no one will be able to stop you!

Excellent feedback, thank you kindly - that's an impressive range indeed! I suspected pitching would be a no no in truth but I don't know up from down at the end of the day when it comes to the inner workings of VO etiquette. Thanks! The Percius reading is basically just my natural voice with a little extra emphasis - you know how them fighters guild bois are ;P. I've done music since childhood and am eager to break into this world as soon as I find that "Potion of Confidence and Motivation" I hear so much about XD
