Tay for Allie Harding
Jim's teenage daughter. Allie is on the autism spectrum, and also suffering from some deep-seated trauma, as well, having witnessed the death of her mother, Daniela, when she was younger. Allie is very smart and loving, but she struggles greatly with displaying her emotions. This is immensely frustrating for her-- because her big dream is to become a renowned actress-- in part, tragically, because she wants to be able to take care of her father in such a way that he'll never have to work again.
Allie and Jim's father / daughter dynamic is something of an emotional oasis in the show. They love each other very much, even if both of them might struggle to express it in a traditional way.
Remember, when reading for Allie-- her delivery is often very flat or cold, but not monotone. She struggles to emote, but she's not a robot.

[Waking up her father, after he's fallen asleep in the living room, still dressed for work] Dad? Dad, are you okay? Why are you out here again?
[Trying to read for a play, but struggling to express herself] If music be the food of love, play on; Give me excess of it, that, surfeiting, The appetite may sicken, and so die. {muttering} I'M about to die, the fuck does this even mean? People read this stuff? For fun?
[Trying to tease her father] If this acting thing doesn't pan out, I think I'm just gonna become a hooker. Cash business. Better job security. Oldest profession, you know?
Ooh! I'm still working my way through all of your auditions-- thank you so much for trying out for so many parts!-- but I really wanted to point this one out. You did an excellent job of conveying Allie's struggles with conveying emotion here, but then still bringing through her sassy-take-no-shit teenager vibe, as well. Big-time props, seriously! Regardless of what I ultimately decide at the end of the call, please know-- this was a really great audition. Thank you again!
