The new guy in Summersville is Owen, who is a kind and caring individual. He goes out of his way to help Lexi whenever he can. However, he has a heart condition from birth and needs medication daily. When he and Lexi meet at the hospital, he doesn't tell her about his condition as he wants to be seen as more than that. Owen is a calm and reserved individual who doesn't want to get carried away by the negativity of the world around him. He is also very kind to his friend Lexi,  Even though he is dealing with his own issues, he is still there to help her through hers. Owen and Lexi later develop a relationship.
