Drystan is a Telmarine guard who is secretly loyal to the Narnians.  When Cassia first meets him, she suspects as much and decides to keep an eye on him and see if she needs to deal with him later.  Later on during the battle between the Telmarines and Narnians, Drystan secretly goes to the Telmarine camp and frees Cassia who is now a prisoner of war before she can be executed on the battlefield.  Cassia apologizes for her actions and for trusting Miraz, but Drystan assures her that he has already forgiven her.  Cassia instructs Drystan to return to the castle and keep Miraz or anyone else from taking the throne if the battle is lost.  After Caspian's coronation, Drystan becomes a knight.  In Part 3, it is revealed that he and Cassia are engaged.
