Eva is a young girl who befriended the Pevensies shortly after they returned from Narnia, and is best friends with Edmund.  She is rather immature, treating a lot of things like a game and rarely taking things as seriously as she should.  This stems from her parents trying to shield her from the horrors of war by downplaying it or just not saying anything.  Eva always feels left out among the others and when she is pulled into Narnia with them, she understands why as she learns that they are all royalty.  She struggles with reconciling the image of the children she has come to know with the kings and queens they used to be.  After watching Elaine nearly die in front of her after a failed raid, Eva wants to do whatever it takes to go home and nearly releases the White Witch again thinking that she is helping them.  She is horrified at her actions, but Edmund confesses his own struggles with the Witch and tells her how easy it is to fall for her charms.  Eva is then sent to find Aslan with Lucy and she meets the Great Lion for herself who tells her that she has done well by learning from her mistakes.  At the end of the story, Eva is named a Lady of Narnia, and she and Edmund later confess their feelings for each other.
