This is a casting call for an upcoming series on my YouTube channel called "Zelda-Tober: The Great Calamity"!
For those unaware, every October on my YouTube channel, I do a month-long series dedicated to playing certain games based on the theme. This year marks the release of Tears of the Kingdom, so what better time than now to dedicate a whole month of Zelda!
MAIN ROLES (mostly for Zelda, Purah and Impa): For your information, most of the lines you will be speaking happen in the "story" sections of the videos. However, there are a few dialogues that are in-game but are not spoken, so please be prepared to read from the game's script if you are asked to do so.
Some things to consider:
1. Please do NOT slate your auditions!
2. The deadline for auditions is August 4th.
3. All lines for this project MUST be submitted by September 30th. NO EXCEPTIONS!
4. If you have been cast for a role, please confirm your role through here, or on my Discord by August 11th. If you fail to do so, I will give your role to another voice actor. Also, please provide me with any socials you would like me to use to credit you for this project.
5. Please also provide me with your Discord username so I can get in contact with you if needed regarding script changes, etc.
6. Please ensure that you have a microphone that can pick up little to no background noise.

As the Princess of Hyrule, Zelda is tasked with keeping the Triforce of Wisdom safe. When Taylor returns to Hyrule, she is excited to see Taylor but then realizes more trouble may be afoot in Hyrule.
[NOTE: This role requires a bit of singing. For context, you will be teaching Taylor the lyrics to "Zelda's Lullaby" while in the Hateno Research Lab.]
[You are showing Taylor a local scientist's (Purah) latest invention.] (Nerdy) Check this out, Taylor! [Points at a picture of the Silent Princess on a device] That is the Silent Princess. It's our special flower, if you will. (Pause) Even though it does take a significant amount of time to grow, the end result is amazing! Some say this flower has health benefits, but we have yet to discover them.
[Your guardian pet, Terrako, bursts into the room and begins making panicking sounds. You try to translate, but Taylor is better than you.] (Shocked) Wait...you know the Guardian language? (Response) Oh...I thought you could translate Guardian speech. Let me try to translate. [Zelda listens to Terrako.] It...can't be...! [Turns to Taylor] Taylor, it sounds like the Yiga Clan is after your Triforce necklace in an effort to revive Ganon once and for all!
[You are speaking to Link and Taylor about next steps when Purah steps in.] Oh, Purah! I was just talking with Link and Taylor. We're concerned that the Yiga clan is after Taylor's Triforce necklace, so we're trying to figure out how we can protect it. Do you have any ideas?
Known as "the knight who carries the Master Sword", Link is courageous in every way possible. He is also Princess Zelda's escort and assists Taylor with playing "Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity".
[You find Taylor lying amongst a field of grass outside the castle grounds, but then you notice the Yiga Clan.] (With courage) Do you REALLY want to harm this young woman? What do you want from her anyway?! [The Yiga Clan responds.] Don't you dare come any closer to her [The Yiga Clan disappears before you can start fighting them.] (Threatening) Yeah, that's right! Go pick on someone in your OWN tribe! [You turn your attention to Taylor. Taylor wakes up and looks around. She is stunned, but then recognizes your face.] (With relief) Oh, what a relief! I thought you were a goner! How... [You notice the Triforce necklace around Taylor.] (With concern) Well...this can't be a good sign. I better take you to Zelda. She'll know what to do.
[You are speaking to Zelda and Purah about finding Taylor out in the field.] (To Purah, curious) So...you're saying that necklace has the power to detect when our kingdom needs help? That's odd. (Realizing) Actually...you might be right, Purah! Taylor probably had no idea that the Triforce necklace worked when she least expected it.
[You are speaking to Zelda and Taylor about coming up with a plan when Terrako suddenly jumps in.] Woah! Terrako! What's going on? [Terrako alerts you to the sound of a battle horn.] (Yells) Taylor! Zelda! Get upstairs! I'll take care of this!
As leader of the Yiga Clan, Master Kohga will do anything to revive Ganon and take over Hyrule. For those reasons, he is considered the villain for this story. His voice can sound like either Master Kohga in "Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity" or Girahim from "Skyward Sword".
The Blacksmith is Link's boss in "A Link Between Worlds". He gets angry at Link for being late.
[You are Master Kohga for this line. Taylor, Link and Zelda have just arrived at Hyrule Castle along with their friends.] (Impressed) Ah...what an unexpected pleasure, my friends! It's rare for me to have company when I'm preparing a special ritual to summon Ganon. [Zelda responds.] First! I must address the "outsider" who caused two of my members to flee. They were on the search for the Triforce necklace, but were ultimately scared to fight her. [Turn your attention to Taylor] "Taylor", was it? (Threatening) I'll have you know you're NOT getting home alive, my pretty! [You turn to the rest of the party.] And YOU ALL will perish along with Hyrule!
[You are Master Kohga for this line again. You have just been defeated by Link, Zelda, Impa and Purah.] (As if you were defeated) Ack...Why? Why did you?! How could you defeat me?! I am the great Master Kohga of the Yiga Clan! I...am...unstoppable! [Link responds.] My magic...I can feel it weakening... [Fading] Tell...Taylor...I...hope...
[You are the blacksmith for this line. You've just given the Captain a new shield.] All right. So tell me, how's that shield suit you, Captain? [The Captain responds.] I do what I can, Captain. Also helps that I have a good source of ore. That shield's tougher than ever now.
An elder of Kakariko Village, she assists Taylor in discovering more about the Triforce necklace. She has wisdom beyond her years despite her old age.
[You are meeting Taylor for the first time while also catching up with Zelda, Link and Purah.] (Grateful) Taylor, was it? Zelda told me all about you. It's a pleasure to meet you at last! [You turn your attention to Zelda, Link and Purah.] You three were wise to bring Taylor here. And I know you all are here for the same reason as Taylor. [You turn your attention back to Taylor.] Now, my dear Taylor, what can I do for you?
[You notice the Triforce necklace around Taylor’s neck.] Oh? The Triforce necklace! My dear, how did you get this in your possession? [Taylor responds.] (Interested) I see. So that's what got you home the first time. And it mysteriously brought you back here to Hyrule? How odd. If that happened, then something sinister must be afoot. [Taylor asks you about the Triforce necklace.] Well, since you are the rightful owner according to Zelda, it’s only fair that I share the history of that necklace.
[You are talking to Zelda about her concerns surrounding the Yiga Clan and their efforts to get Taylor's Triforce necklace.] You are right to be concerned, Zelda. The Yiga Clan can be pretty powerful with that necklace especially if Master Kohga, their leader, is involved. You and Link must stay on alert. I have a strong feeling they intend to use that necklace to do something dreadful to Hyrule.
Purah is one of the scientists of Hyrule. As the lead scientist in Hateno Village, she specializes in technology research. When Taylor returns unexpectedly, however, she focuses all her efforts on discovering more secrets surrounding the history and magic of the Triforce necklace.
[You are meeting Zelda for the first time in ages while also greeting Taylor for the first time.] (Cheerful) Why, if it isn't Zelda! Long time, no see! How have you been, Princess? [Response] It's a pleasure to meet you, Taylor! So...tell me about this necklace. Do you know much about it?
[Taylor tells you that Zelda found the Triforce necklace among the rubble outside Hyrule Castle.] (Interested) I see. So that necklace brought you home the first time...and now, it sent you back here unexpectedly. (Realizing) That explains why you fell from the sky the other day! Everyone here was worried that it was me, but nope!
[You are telling Taylor and Zelda more about the Triforce necklace.] According to my research, that necklace may contain more powers than granting a wish. Legend has it that whoever owns the necklace is one of the true protectors of Hyrule. Though we have no proof of that, I will do all I can to aid you in this battle!
As one of several group leaders, this member is the next to heir the title of Master. While their identity is obscured, they are a master at disguising themselves as ordinary residents of Hyrule.
The Captain is in "A Link Between Worlds". He forgets his sword at the beginning of the game which forces Link to get it back to him.
[You've just been given orders by Master Kohga, the leader of the full tribe.] We will not fail you, Master. I promise!
[You are given orders to steal the Triforce necklace (a symbol of Hyrule's royal family).] (Affirmative) Understood. But what about the one who holds the necklace?
[You are the Captain for this line. You are impressed by the blacksmith's work.] I wouldn't trust my gear with anyone else. No one can bring the best out of a sword quite like you. So, if you'll excuse me, it's time that I forge ahead. Busy day.
This character only appears in "Cadence of Hyrule". The fairy helps Cadence, the protagonist of "Cadence of Hyrule", reach Hyrule Castle and teaches her how battles work.
[You just witnessed Cadence fall out of the sky.] Hey! Hey, you! I saw you fall from the Sky! That landing wasn't very graceful. Are you okay?
[You notice something different about Cadence.] Oh! You're not Hylian? So you're new here! I'm Trill. Nice to meet you! [Cadence moves for a few moments.] Looks like you can still move! I'm glad you're not injured! (Concerned) But you have unfortunate timing... Something strange has been going on in Hyrule.
[You see Cadence use a piece of the Triforce to wake up Link.] (In shock) That flash! It looked like the Triforce! I knew you were special! Thank you for helping to wake up Link. He has been asleep for a while, so I'm going to stay with him to explain what's going on in Hyrule. You should try to find your way home! I hope our paths cross again someday soon, friend of Hyrule!
King Rhoam is (obviously) the king of Hyrule in "Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity". He rules over Hyrule wisely and well. He is the father of Princess Zelda. All lines for this role can be found in "Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity".
[You are applauding the army for defending Hyrule Castle.] (Victorious) It seems we have purged the horde from the castle. Well fought, all!
[You are observing Link on the battlefield taking out monsters.] (Impressed) Well, well! We have a Moblin slayer among us.
[You are commenting on Link's performance during the battle.] (Pleased) That young knight served his kingdom well. Perhaps an official appointment is in order...
Ravio is considered Link's counterpart in "A Link Between Worlds". He has quite the personality, but helps Link just when he needs it. In all three lines, Link has just woken up after being defeated by Yuga at the sanctuary of Hyrule Castle.
(Relieved) Ooooh, you're waking up. Good. I was starting to worry about you, buddy.
The name's Ravio. Hey, you listening to me? What, the rug tastes really good or something?
(Shocked) You don't say? Some strange man turned a girl into a painting? So you got done in trying to stop him, huh?
One of Link's coworkers at the blacksmith's shop, Gulley is ALWAYS demanding. He awakens Link and helps him through a bit of the tutorial.
[You are waking up Link for the day.] (Yelling) Hey, Link! [You open the door and walk into the house. You notice Link still sleeping.] (Calm) Huh. Still sleeping. (Yelling) Wake up!
[Link has just woken up.] (Annoyed) Come on! How long are you going to sleep, Link? Do I have to wake you up every morning? I have chores to do! (Calm) I'll be waiting outside, so get up -- and let's get going!
[You've just gone outside.] (Warning) Papa was REALLY angry. He said that you can't be a blacksmith if you don't get up at the crack of dawn!
[NOTE: This character only appears in "A Link Between Worlds"! If you would like to audition for multiple parts, please feel free to do so! Also, I will only use audition lines for this role since the role is incredibly small.]
The priest works at Hyrule Castle's Sanctuary. He is the father of Seres.
[You are confronting Yuga about your daughter being turned into a painting.] (Threatening) What do you want with Seres? I swear, if you hurt my daughter...! And what sort of fiend dares to defile the sanctuary in this manner?
[You turn around to see Link standing behind you.] (Shocked) H-how did you get in the Sanctuary, Link? (Ordering) Run, child! [Link does not move.] Wh-why do you just stand there? RUN! Not even the captain stood a chance against him!
[You've just witnessed Link run into the wall thanks to Yuga's wall trick.] (Concerned) N-no, Link! (Fading away slowly) N-n-no! Don't take my Seres... We must...warn...Princess Zelda...
The wife of a renowned blacksmith in Hyrule, she is concerned about the Captain. She is kind to Link.
[NOTE: Whatever you audition with, I will use for the line itself.]
[You've just noticed the Captain's sword.] (Shocked) Oh my! The captain left without taking his new sword.
[NOTE: This role ONLY appears in "A Link Between Worlds".]
The Narrator provides the narration of the paintings seen inside Hyrule Castle in "A Link Between Worlds". This narrator should have a mystical yet mysterious presence.
Painting One: The Golden Triforce. This gift from the gods, Hyrule's greatest treasure, will grant the wish of any mortal who touches it. The Triforce once stoked greed in the hearts of men. A legendary war was fought to keep it out of evil hands.
Painting Three: The Demon King. The Demon King Ganon was once just a thief - until the man broke into the Sacred Realm. There, he stole the Triforce and transformed himself. Then, he took his evil campaign back to Hyrule.
Painting Five: The Triforce, Split Apart. The Triforce was split into three pieces, separated forever. One piece remains with the royal family. Another piece has fallen into the hands of Ganon, sealed away with him. The third piece of the Triforce has vanished, though legend says it is hidden in the spirit of a true hero. It slumbers now somewhere in Hyrule - waiting for the time when the world needs a new hero.

Dampé is a gravekeeper at Hyrule Castle in "The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds".
[You are commenting on the captain who has just went into the sanctuary.] Coming and going! Going and coming! The captain stops by here more than anyone. You think he wants to yak with the priest? No, sir – just making excuses to see Seres there. She hasn’t got a clue, either. But I suppose that’s what’s so lovely about Seres. Carefree as a bird… But ol’ Dampé sees more than people think. Like those paintings on the castle walls this morning. There’s trouble brew - !
[You are panicking because Seres was crying out from inside the sanctuary.] Wh - what’s happening in there? Th - th - the doors are shut tight. Can’t get them open! Wh-what can we do? That was Seres crying out! Dampé doesn’t have a key! Dampé just digs the graves around - !
[You notice Link has a sword in his hand.] That sword you’ve got there! Dampé heard you say it belongs to the captain, but who cares? Use that sword if you run into trouble. Dampé would help, but these old bones are falling apart as it is. So go find the secret passage. It’s got to be hidden somewhere in the graveyard!
[NOTE: This character only appears in "A Link Between Worlds".]
Yuga is one of the main villains of the story. Even though Yiga is written as a male in the game, this role can also be performed by a female if you so desire.
[You are being confronted by the priest.] (Offended) A fiend? How easily you stoop to petty insults. My name is Yuga. And I have come here seeking nothing less than…perfection.
[You've just noticed Link in the sanctuary.] Oh? What have we here? Another worm comes wriggling in?
[You've just taken out Link.] You think you can challenge ME? Why, I am the portrait of perfection! While all of you…? Merely scribbles and squiggles. The very sight of you offends my eyes!
The Steward Constructs appear in "The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom". Although their gender is not known, they are very helpful to Link.
[You are awakening for the first time and see Link before you.] Link, I have waited for you. Princess Zelda left something for you in my care. This is the Purah Pad. I am told that this is an invaluable tool that will provide you with direction.
[You are warning Link of a certain enemy in the Great Sky Island.] Soldier Constructs are those of us given strict orders to protect this land. The Zonai who created us directed them to eliminate trespassers. They will consider you a trespasser too. You must treat them as a serious threat. Allow me to offer unsolicited advice. Swinging haphazardly will not yield results. You may practice targeting on me if you want. Oh! But please do not actually attack.
[You are teaching Link about cooking.] I recall that your question was about roasting food. I roast ingredients by placing them beside the fire. I do not eat. But I am given to understand that it improves the taste. Our creators roasted ingredients in order to enhance their nutritional value. Do you have ingredients? I invite you to use this fire to roast them.
King Rauru is a spirit in Tears of the Kingdom. He guides Link on his adventure in the Great Sky Island.
[Link has just entered the first shrine and you are giving him his first ability.] So you made it here. This is a Shrine of Light. Long ago, I filled these places with light that purges evil. I believe this light will restore an ability your right arm has lost. Now then, extend your hand.
[Link just got through the first shrine.] You did very well getting through that shrine. And you’ve restored an ability. This is wonderful. If you visit and complete two more shrines, you should be able to open the door to the Temple of Time. You may want to mark the shrines in the distance with pins. Then you’ll never lose track of where they are. The Purah Pad offers you a very useful scope. It’s quite handy.
[You are admiring the constructs.] I see that they're still at work even now. We originally created the constructs to assist in our endeavors. All of us were fond of them. I never imagined they would continue to carry out their assigned tasks to this day. The fact that their labor no longer serves any purpose, yet they perform it still… it is disquieting to me.
Queen Sonia is the other former ruler of Hyrule. She only has one line (namely during the end of all the Great Sky Island Shrines).
[Link has just reached the end of the shrine.] You have done well to reach this place. We offer this light that will cleanse you of evil. May the Light of Blessing grant you the strength you seek.
