Your Turn To Dub EXTRAS - A Your Turn to Die/Kimigashine Dubbing Group

Project Overview

Sara Chidouin returns home from school late one night to discover that something's gone terribly wrong. 

When she comes to, she finds herself, her friend Joe, and 9 other people trapped in a mysterious place. Placed in life-and-death situations, they must come to an agreement about what they should do - and who should die. 

Although sometimes they can have some fun, too. 


Welcome to Your Turn to Dub: A fandub of characters in the ever-so-loved 'Your Turn to Die/Kimi ga Shine' game series! 

My name is Echo. My friend Tsunanami and I both fell in love with Kimi Ga Shine/Your Turn to Die ourselves. Together, we've decided to make a dubbing group dedicated to comic dubs, game clips, and other things!


  1. This casting call contains spoilers up to chapter 2 part 2!

There is one key rule you need to follow.

You need to be respectful to each other.

I expect everybody to respect everybody who is cast, and who isn't cast. If I see anybody being rude or disrespectful to those who are cast/aren't cast, you will receive a strike.

What's a strike?

We have a 5 strike system. Strike 1 is a warning, and Strike 5 is a permanent ban.


Roles:

Main roles, like the floormasters and game participants have all already been cast. Because Gin's understudy never responded to being cast, that part will be up for grabs. Kugie Kizuchi and the original Sou Hiyori have also already been pre-cast.

Understudies? But, they're never used!

As before, we're looking for a Gin understudy in the case that our current Gin understudy isn't available to record lines or such things. The rest of the characters here won't have understudies.

Okay, will you be casting before the deadline?

Contrary to the original casting call, yes, it will be more likely for us to cast before a deadline, especially for characters like Ryoko Hirose, and Mr. Chidouin, due to the fact they appear in the manga, which we're planning on dubbing.

How about double casting?

With these roles, due to how small some of the parts are, double casting will be practically guaranteed. By the way, extras will be asked to voice any background/other characters, regardless of whether or not they have a named role like Megumi Sasahara, for example. First trial victims, not including Megumi, or Kugie, probably won't be double cast unless the VA's voice is flexible enough to sound like 2+ different characters.

I'm a girl, and I want to voice <Male character>. 

Girls can audition for guys, and vice versa. As long as it fits the character, you're all good!


For minor characters with minimal lines, like Hinako and Ryoko, please do 2-3 takes of each line, with different expressions each time!

  • Deadline extended + Feature

    Unfortunately, we didn't get as many auditions as we hoped for, so I've extended the deadline, and featured the project. Sorry about that. Some casting may take place later.

  • Character references update

    As of playing the chapter 3 demo, (Which gives the first trial victims some more spotlight) I've updated the character references to fit what I imagined them to be a little more, because of what was shown in the demo. I will not, however, be updating any of their lines, due to Nankidai's request of not sharing any information from the demo. As such, all first trial victims have been updated to 'supporting' instead of 'extra.' Thank you!

Gin Ibushi is the youngest participant in the death game, At first, he's shown to be suspicious and distrustful of the other participants, only introducing himself once everybody else already had. He grows to be fond of participants like Sara Chidouin, Jou Tazuna, Reko Yabusame, Nao Egokoro, and Kanna Kizuchi, referring to them as 'big sis,' or 'big bro.' He tries to support them, and remain positive in the situation.

His speech is somewhat childish, often punctuating his sentences with 'woof,' and 'meow', demonstrating his fondness for animals. Further backing this up, the plushie he carries around with him constantly, he named 'Mew Chan.'

Gin is the only participant in the game without any artwork of him with a collar.

Gin has a 1.3% chance of winning the death game.


I believe Gin should have a mid-high voice, judging by the fact that he's 12.

  • (Suspicious) "Myeow so? Mom tells me not to give personal info to strange guys I don't know, woof!"

    (Annoyed) "Fine, I can read the room, woof! It's, you know, the mature response, meow! My name is Gin Ibushi, woof! I'm a 6th grader, meow!"


  • (Flatly) "Ehh...? You're a school teacher, woof? The world's going to the dogs, meow."

    (Unsure, but happy.) "...Can I believe that, meow? I'll only trust you, big sis Sara! Woof!"


  • (Uncertain) Mom was late coming home, so I stayed up to wait… And I heard the intercom, so I thought she was back and opened the door, meow. A different grown-up was standing there, meow! …Don’t remember anything else, woof. 

    (Determined) "Big sis Sara! Stay with us, meow!! Big bro Joe isn't here! Don't give attention to anything weird, woof!"

Megumi Sasahara was originally introduced on the second day of the sub-game, when Nao Egokoro purchased a victim video, and shared it with Sara. She is shown, begging an off-camera man to save her. When he refuses, she is tugged apart by chains.

Later, if you win the war of words minigame with Keiji, he will reveal that Megumi was his boss, who made a backroom deal for him to keep his job, after he shot somebody. From that, he had grown to resent her, claiming he "owed her the worst kind of debt." 

In this flashback, Megumi is shown to be compassionate, dedicated, and analytical. However, once confronted about the deal she struck, for Keiji to keep his job, she doesn't even bother to deny it, telling him to go back to his work.

Megumi has a 4.9% chance of winning the death game.


I believe Megumi should have a medium pitched voice.

Naomichi Kurumada is listed as a boxer on the death percentage sheets. His victim video, purchased in the prize exchange, shows him being crushed by walls constricting in on him, as he tried to reach a button. From his lines, he seems to be short tempered, and foul-mouthed. 

Kurumada had the second highest percentage, after Sara Chidouin, with a 9.9% survival rate.


I'd like a medium-low, but not a voice that's too low kind of voice for Naomichi.

Other than that, I have no set voice in mind, and would like you to come up with something!

Hinako's first trial was recorded, and sold as the third victim video. In the trial, she was shown thanking Rio Ranger for her death, who, because of his envy towards humans, began to beat her lifeless corpse. Unfortunately, there isn't much else able to be told about her. The role is listed as 'minor' because she seems to be important in chapter 3.

Hinako has a 1.1% chance of winning the death game.


I think Hinako should have a medium pitched voice, that still sounds childish.

Ranmaru's victim video could be found on the first floor. It shows the aftermath of his first trial, as he sat there, dying, from a wound in his gut. From what he says, he seemed rather hopeless, calling his life 'boring,' and saying he 'didn't care about the future'. Other than that, there isn't much to be said.
Ranmaru has a 5.3% chance of winning the Death Game.


I think Ranmaru should have a medium pitched voice, on the slightly lower side. He should sound bored when he talks.

Mai's victim video could be found on the first floor. The video displays her first trial, where she was forced to pick between two guns to shoot herself with, similar to the Russian Roulette game.

She frantically refuses at first, clinging onto life. However, as she realizes she has no choice, she hesitantly picks one of the guns, the one with the live bullet, which killed her.

Mai has a 7.5% chance of winning the Death Game.


While I don't have a set voice in mind, I'd like a medium voice, on the high side, for Mai. A western accent is optional, as well. Please, if you're going to include one, don't overdo it. Keep it subtle.

Anzu's first trial could be purchased for viewing as a victim video. In the video, she's shown to have spikes closing in on her, chained to the ground, as she desperately begs for life, uselessly. The wiki states she has a hard time understanding highly stressful situations, which is plausible due to what the video contains.

Anzu has an 8% chance of winning the Death Game.


I imagine Anzu with a medium-high, on the higher side, voice.

Mr. Chidouin is seen first in a flashback after the first main game, with Kai Satou. He is shown, once more, if you spare Kanna Kizuchi in the second main game, as a floormaster, hence why he's listed as a lead. In the flashback, he's demonstrated to be overly protective of Sara. His typing style is very childish, but other than that, not much is known about him.

I picture Mr. Chidouin with a mid-low, typically fatherly voice.

Unfortunately, I couldn't think of a voice source to use as reference for Mr. Chidouin.

Ryoko Hirose is Sara Chidouin's best friend, and Joe Tazuna's love interest. According to the manga, she was stood up on her first date with Joe, because he wanted to help a stray cat he found, named Kuro. However, they eventually did manage to go on a date, the day Sara and Joe were kidnapped. That day, Sara stayed late for clubs, and Joe walked her home, bragging about their date, claiming Ryoko had downed a Doner Kebab in one bite.
