Wynd: The Throne in the Sky (Season 3) Casting Call

(Normal) In their company was a boy with wings, a young human girl from Pipetown, Prince Yorik's servant Thorn, and Bastian's servant Teek. They wanted to get to the Capital. To get to you. They were assisted by the daughter of the late General Eastwood. A child named Merien. But the following day, there was an attack on Escalion. Human machines were used to bring down the holy trees on whose branches the city rested. The local councilor imprisoned the children, believing them to have conspired with the Pipetown forces to bring the city down. But they escaped.

(Shouting angrily) TAKE THE FANGERS DOWN!

(Normal) Okay. Here’s the good news. I’ve smoothed things over with the locals. As long as the Naval Fleet leaves Northport, families of the enlisted can stay here in the city. Including your son. I’d say a good 70% of the men we left Pipetown with 15 years ago are back with us. But we have to be realistic. They’re not battle-ready. They’ve grown comfortable in peacetime. What will help is our enlistments. There are a lot of weirdbloods out there who would love to go home if Pipetown changed its ways. So that gives us a bit more youth and vigor. Weapons we’ve got. A good bit of it has never seen war. But we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it. Our ships are our strength. The strongest, largest fleet docked in Esseriel. But it’s not enough, and you damn well know it. Pipetown is landlocked. And we don’t have the hands to fight off the Faeries and your brother.

(Delighted) Basil? By the Winds, it's been a lifetime since I've seen you! (Monotone) I have so many questions I want to ask you. So much I wish I could know of what life has been like back home in Pipetown.

(Angry loudly) You can't do this! We cannot be divided like this. We must UNITE! (Angry VERY LOUD) WE MUST UNITE!

(Worried, Pain) *choking* Y–you’re wrong. *choking* This is only a moment. And it’s fleeting. The only path forward will be all of us standing together to rebuild. A United Esseriel is inevitable.

(Ashamed) Peace is not something you wait for, idly like an idiot child. It is something you take. I will see peace in Esseriel in my lifetime, young man. Not bestowed on me from on high, but ensured on the battlefield, and paid for in blood. (Furious) DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME?!

(Evil) I never care for your mother, or her foolhardy dreams of peace. I care for it less from the lips of an idiot child. You're right. It is forbidden for us to touch a Faerie Noble. But not for us to touch your belongings. You'll die if you try to chase us down the mountain. Let's see if you can survive in this cave until the warm season arrives.

(Angry) This is TOTAL WAR! And there is only one move of substance left to make! (Battlecry) TAKE THE CASTLE, AND WE TAKE PIPETOWN!

(Hostile) That's right, children. (Evil) But I don't think you'll find the forward path much to your liking, either.

(Horrified) Ecks! Turn around! We have company!

(Furious, Angry) COSTS?! What do you know of costs? Your meddling has brought this horror on all of Faerie kind. YOU'LL ALL DIE HERE.

(Aggravated) We received reports matching the band of humans who escaped the destruction of Escalion. Our orders are to bring you to the capital.

(Unsure) Are you certain he's not a weirdblood?

You! Human! What do you have there?

(Warning) Get back to your tent, human.

(Curious) Is that so?

(Pleasant) Very well. I’ll get something hearty started for you in the kitchen. Why don’t you take the big table in the corner? There’s stools for the winged among you.

(Vibrant, Kind-hearted) I think that can be arranged, dear.

(Normal) 'Bout time somebody did something about that madman, pushing folks like us out of his city.

(Threatened) Maribell. We need to pack the bags.

(Trapped) They're rounding up humans and weirdbloods. Locking them away. They say that human agitators brought down Escalion, and now they're coming to the capital. They've brought General Ecks from the western war camps on the Vampyre borders. He's raising an army to march south on the Mad King of Pipetown.

(Delinquent) You don't understand. The mood in the Weird Woods has shifted. We need to get to Northport as soon as we can. Weirdbloods are safe for the moment, but that could change quickly. Things are happening fast. (Monotone) Can I help you with something, weirdling?

(Injured, Desperate) General, please...

(Injured, Terrified) Please, sir... I have a family, too.

(Shouting in pain) AAAAGHHHH! (Injured, Frightened) Yes... Yes, I understand.

Couple o'little birdies told me some young'uns were in trouble down on the slopes, and sure as can be, there you were. But don't cha worry yerselves any longer. Strawberry's got you now.

(Happy) That it is. And you're in the high tower of the Temple of the East Wind right now. Managed to get it out from under a few centuries of stone and dirt. Don't quite fit inside it, of course. Actually, I have to say I'm envious that you get to enjoy my hard work. Now, I'm going to try and fashion you something soft to sleep on. And we'll see what kind of food I can scrounge up for you. In time, it'll be nice and homey.

(Nearly death) Children... You need to run...

(Enraged) QUIET, HUMAN! Stay down, and shut your DAMNED MOUTH!

(Shocked) Wait, the boy is trying to get out of his binds! (Angry) Enough of this nonsense.

(Angry) And you... You’re coming with us.

Duke Yadriel... Escalion. Our oldest, most sacred city has fallen. Its trees have been brought to the ground by human mechanics. I have been kind to your dream for many years, you know that. I wish to the Four Winds that you had successfully overthrown your brother. I would have been glad to enter the dusk of my life in a world of rising peace. (Petulant) But I will not allow our capital, and the millions of Faerie here under my protection, to fall for the sake of that dream.

(Furious) So you admit that you have provoked your brother and caused the devastation that has been brought upon our people?!
