WitchSpring R Fandub - New Role Added

WitchSpring R Fandub - New Role Added

Project Overview

UPDATE: I've cast the first round and am waiting on all the confirmations. I've also now opened up the role of Black Joe.

This is a fan-driven voiceover adaptation of WitchSpring R, a beautifully crafted RPG that tells the story of Pieberry, a young witch living deep in the forest, isolated from humans. The game follows her as she trains, explores, befriends magical creatures, and slowly grows into her strength — all while encountering both friends and foes. It’s a heartfelt story with moments of humor, adventure, and discovery.

I’m fully committed to bringing this project to life and releasing consistent content! My goal is to produce episodes (~30 minutes each), and to keep the process organized and enjoyable for everyone involved.

How I’m running this project:

  • I will be casting characters as I go, so no one is stuck waiting for months or losing interest.

  • I will provide a full script and reference video for each episode.

  • Episodes will be released on a steady schedule, as I complete production.

Expectations for voice actors:

  • Good audio equipment (clear, clean recordings — minimal background noise)

  • Ability to communicate (Discord, email, etc.) — I’m flexible, life happens!

  • Since this is an unpaid passion project, I’m flexible on deadlines — I just ask that actors stay in touch and let me know if something comes up.

  • Please only audition if you’re comfortable committing and won’t ghost — many of my past projects struggled because of actors disappearing, so I want to build a reliable, collaborative team.

If that sounds good to you, I’d love to hear your audition and work together to bring this game to life!

Black Joe

Role assigned to: Alltonment1

Black Joe is a gruff, sarcastic companion with a sharp tongue and a protective streak buried beneath layers of cynicism. He constantly mocks and questions Pieberry’s choices, often acting exasperated or annoyed, but his concern is genuine—he deeply cares for her safety, even if he’d never admit it directly. He’s quick with dry humor, reluctant praise, and bitter honesty, often sounding like a jaded mentor forced into the role of guardian. For voice, open to any take on his character.

  • Kyahahaha! What did you say, you ugly witch? Stop interrupting my meal and go away.

  • Well. I already ate it. I was just quenching my thirst with tree sap. Kehehehe!

  • I really wanted to eat it, so I used all my strength. I don’t have the motivation to fly you around….

Role assigned to: LordTheNecromancer

Aslan is a noble, lion-like guardian of the Temple of Arua in WitchSpring R, known for his stoic presence and deep sense of honor. Initially opposing Pieberry as a test of her worth, he eventually joins her as a loyal companion, bound by duty and hard-earned respect. He speaks with quiet authority and rarely shows emotion, always measured and deliberate in his words. Aslan values strength tempered by wisdom, and his reserved nature hides a powerful protectiveness once his trust is gained. His voice should be deep, smooth, and regal—reminiscent of Mufasa or a solemn Optimus Prime—with a steady, commanding tone that carries weight in every word.

Pieberry

Role assigned to: Bee

Pieberry is a young witch who lives alone in the Misty Forest. She’s sweet, curious, and a bit naive, having grown up isolated from the outside world. Her voice should reflect a sense of youthful innocence, warmth, and optimism — even when faced with danger or sadness, she tends to stay hopeful.

Pieberry is playful and talks to her magical creatures like close friends. She’s intelligent but not overly confident, often questioning herself and her abilities. As her journey progresses, she becomes braver and more determined, developing a stronger, more mature tone — though she never loses her kind-hearted nature.

She is the main character and has a lot of lines so, will require a big commitment.

Voice qualities:

  • Light, soft, youthful tone (early teens to young adult)

  • Cheerful and curious, with occasional moments of vulnerability

  • When determined, her voice carries a subtle strength

  • Playful and affectionate when speaking to her companions

  • Should capture her growth from naive to courageous over the story

  • All right, now I don’t need to worry about running out of healing potions. Next up is…. …. What’s that sound coming from outside? A beast??

  • Hmph. Raise your sword. Time to see if all that training was worth it! Huh? Why are you sitting down? We should be fighting!

  • Various noises i.e. fighting, delight, confusion, irratation.

Grouchy Merchant Ralph

Role assigned to: Carionto

Ralph is a traveling merchant with a sharp tongue and an even sharper sense of business. He’s grumpy, impatient, and perpetually annoyed — especially when dealing with inexperienced customers like Pieberry. He speaks in a curt, matter-of-fact tone, often sounding exasperated or sarcastic. Underneath the grouchy exterior, though, he’s not cruel — just a man who’s seen a lot and doesn’t tolerate nonsense.

He respects competence and honesty, but can’t stand wasting time. His humor is dry, and when he does show a rare hint of warmth, it’s gruff and subtle. His voice is older (mid-40s to 60s), slightly raspy or rough, with a “been there, done that” attitude.

Ralph is a minor character who appeals occasionally.

Voice qualities:

  • Grumbly, curt, and impatient

  • Dry, deadpan humor — occasional sarcastic quips

  • Not villainous, just irritable and jaded

  • Rare moments of begrudging respect or amusement

  • Tone: mid-to-low pitch, with an older, worn feel

  • *Say sometI must have run into some sort of barrier. Is this the Black Witch’s Forest I’ve heard so much about? I’d assumed it was just another fairy tale the warriors tell.hing you think would fit*

  • What’s so scary about such a little witch?

  • Maybe this is one of those “ignorance is bliss” situations. Anyway, do you have anything to trade?

Alfredo

Role assigned to: Andrzej Lesiński

Alfredo is a bumbling, wannabe warrior from Lalaque Village who dreams of capturing witches and earning fame, fortune, and recognition. Unfortunately for him, he’s not particularly skilled or brave, and tends to get in over his head. Alfredo is more bark than bite — he talks big about his heroic ambitions, but when faced with real danger, his cowardice and clumsiness often shine through.

He’s a comedic, lighthearted character — not malicious, just misguided and out of his depth. Though self-important and prone to bragging, Alfredo can also be endearing in his own goofy way. Over time, players may even befriend him.

Alfredo is a minor character who appears occasionally.

Voice qualities:

  • Slightly higher pitch or nasal tone — good for comedic effect

  • Energetic but awkward delivery; tries to sound heroic but often falters

  • Bragging, boastful when talking about himself

  • Nervous or panicked when faced with actual danger

  • Playful, goofy charm — not a serious villain

Language:
  • english

For the introduction only.

  • In the beginning, there were gods. They brought rain for humanity, and would sometimes even return the dead to life.

  • For 600 years, humans hid their thirst behind awe and praise. Until one day they finally discovered the source of divine power. We too can become gods!

  • These demonic offspring came to be known as witches, and were swiftly killed at birth or abandoned in the deep woods.

Will need 5 Warriors, Low Rank Palace Warrior, and a Warrior Cadet for the first part of episode 1.  There is no gender, accent or voice type on them.  Completely open to anyone auditioning.  Also would most likely not be a one off for other Warriors in the game.

  • Arrggghhh!!
