Windweaver: Indie Game
Project Overview
WINDWEAVER
🎉 Successfully funded on Kickstarter in October 2026! 🎉
Windweaver is a blisteringly fast 3D platformer. Chain abilities together to tear your way across a vast world and get back home, uncovering a truth about that world you were never told. Master dashing, diving, fall-charging and everything in between as you move through dozens of hand-crafted levels and environments.
Follow Jonathan, a Windweaver knocked out of the sky who suddenly loses the abilities he always relied on. As he travels, he meets new friends, faces dangerous enemies, and slowly uncovers the truth behind the mysterious Eagles. Through animated cutscenes and secrets hidden across the world, Windweaver tells a story about identity, trust, and finding out the world is not as simple as Jonathan believed.
Windweaver is brought to life with full voice acting across its characters, cutscenes, bosses and encounters.
NOTE FOR AUDITIONERS
Roles are intended to be paid, although the rate has not been determined yet as we work to budget out the funding.
We require a relatively high quality microphone for all auditions and final recordings. A good USB microphone or an XLR microphone through an audio interface is ideal. Please don't audition using a headset, gaming headset, laptop, webcam or phone microphone, as these won't match the quality of our existing cast, and we will also be making our decisions based on audio quality.
Please record in a quiet space with as little echo and background noise as possible (a closet or a room with soft furnishings works well!).
Also take note that this is our 2nd round of auditions, as our lead roles for the game have already been determined in a previous casting call in Febuary this year! Majority of these roles are supporting lead roles.
Description: An emperor penguin who runs Blizzard Boulevard from the top floor of her corporate tower. The toll roads choking the city below are hers. She is ice cold one moment and wearing an unnerving corporate smile the next. One mention of the Duke sends her into a blind rage. She takes her coffee hot, and she takes it very seriously. Just ask her assistant Gerald...
Voice: A commanding, polished CEO. The role lives on hard switches between bored and deadpan, sickly sweet, and screaming. Comedy timing matters.

"Unless you are holding a cup of hot coffee, or have an appointment, you have three seconds to vacate my floor."
"A Windweaver? Why didn't you say so!? Please, come in and have a seat. Gerald, bring us some coffee, would you?!"
"Gerald. This coffee- is COLD!"
Description: The leader of a huge congregation in Kindle Canyon, with massive, bright, immaculate feathers. He is thrilled, theatrical and completely sure that Jonathan is a sky angel sent down to walk among them.
Voice: A big, warm preacher who can hold a canyon full of birds. The joy never cracks, even when what he says gets unsettling.

"Quiet! Quiet, everyone! Don't you see? This is all a grand test of faith! The great sky angel has given up his flight just to walk in the sand with us!"
"And besides... shouldn't an angel stay and watch their people?"
"He humbles himself for our sake! It is the divine will of Skyloom!"
Description: A spotless white Windweaver who trained with Jonathan at the Windweaver Academy. Everything Jonathan isn't: precise, perfect landings, a flawless scarf humming with power. He wears a cold, polite smile and plays the "old friend" act, until he doesn't...
Voice: Smooth, smug, buddy-buddy and well spoken. Must drop from friendly condescension to quiet, suffocating authority without getting louder.

"Say old friend, I've been on quite the goose chase looking for you."
"Well, I'm glad to see you're still in one piece- though your feathers are a bit worse for wear..."
"Oh really? "Let's be completely honest- you just got lucky."
Description: The Grandmaster of the Windweavers and the leader of Skyloom. Warm and fatherly.
Voice: Older, warm, soft spoken. Needs range from gentle and sorrowful to quiet, personal venom to full rage.

"You've been very brave, coming all this way. Bravery is a fine quality. So is knowing when to stop."
"Look around you. Every windweaver standing in this hall earned their scarf. From today, Skyloom isn't just where you live. It's your family."
"Seal the gates! Every Enforcer to the outer docks. Nobody gets in or out of Skyloom until I say so."
