Hi everyone! I'm just getting into webcomic dubs, as I realized there aren't many dubs for a lot of my favorites. So, I'm starting with one of my favorite comics: Wilde Life. Episodes will be uploaded to my YouTube channel, Ranny Media.

This casting call is currently for Chapter 1 characters and extras. All of these characters are currently uploaded, but I will reopen the same casting call for future chapters, so please be sure to check back if you are not cast this time around!
Casting for Chapter 1 will conclude on May 15th, 2021, and roles will be announced by May 17th. I will send out scripts to actors once casting is complete along with any deadlines. Our goal is to have this chapter released by August 2021 at the latest, with work on other chapters following closely behind.
Rules/Guidelines:
1. Please have a good quality microphone! That means no background noise and your voice can be heard clearly. If for whatever reason you are experiencing problems and will not be able to get a quality audition in before the deadline, you can email me at emmakocar(at)gmail.com with your audition and an additional clip of your usual microphone quality.
2. Please have a discord or email you check frequently! If you are cast, this is where scripts will be sent and most, if not all, communication will take place. You must be able to respond to any questions/requests within 48 hours unless I have been notified beforehand. Please include one or both methods of contact along with your audition.
3. Please be 18+ or get a parent's permission to submit for this project! There is some cursing and adult themes in this project, though some chapters are cleaner than others. I would rather not get in trouble if you are a minor and your parents are unhappy with your voice being included in this project.
4. Be committed! If you are cast in a long-term role, you will be expected to continue with the project for future chapters, as this is an ongoing comic that I aim to completely dub. Leads are in most, if not all, chapters of the comic and therefore have the highest level of commitment. If a smaller role appears in multiple chapters, it will be noted in the description that you will likely be asked to reprise the role in a future chapter.
5. Be nice! I don't want to see any hate or animosity towards others, whether you are cast or not. Anyone caught sending hate mail or degrading others who are participating will be cut from the project, their role will be recast, and they will be barred from participating in future projects of mine.

Oscar is a 25 year old writer who made a split-second decision to escape his old life by renting a house out in the middle of nowhere. Though his curiosity and impulsive actions get him into quite a bit of trouble, he genuinely has everyone's best interests at heart.
Looking for a standard American/Midwest accent for this role. Any voice range welcome.
[Narrating a thought] "There’s this funny thing I’ve noticed about people… You never really get the story you expect. Ask them what they have and they’ll tell you about what they want. Ask them to tell you about love and they’ll tell you about heartbreak. Ask them about death, though, and they’ll tell you about life. It’s like this wherever you go."
[After seeing a ghost and running out of the house] "I rented a haunted house off Craigslist."
[Explaining a gift he bought for the ghost] "I thought since you can’t turn pages, you can try audiobooks. They’re entire books read out loud. No turning pages. I found the library and got you one."
Sylvia is the ghost of a woman who passed away in 1948 and now haunts the house that Oscar is renting. Though many years isolated in that home have made her soft-spoken and unfamiliar with the way the modern world works, she seeks a genuine friendship that can keep her afterlife joyful.
[When the human falls over after seeing her] "I am so sorry! I didn’t mean to scare you."
“You’re being so nice about this and I’m just mortified." [Beat - realizes what she just said] "Oh, poor choice of words.”
[Explaining why she never revealed herself to previous tenants] “No, I was too afraid… but I used to help them however I could. I would make sure the front porch light was always on for them, and that they always got up in time for work. And if they lost anything, I would find it and put it out where they could see it.”
Barbara is a middle-aged to elderly Oklahoma native who rents out a home to the protagonist. She's short and to the point when she needs to be, but has a decent sense of humor that comes out when she deems it appropriate.
This character does reappear in Chapter 8, so if cast you will be asked to reprise the role at a later date.
[To her dogs as they jump on someone] "Cletus! Remus! Get down! I raised you better’n that!"
[Handing a tenant the keys to the house] “Listen, I’m real glad you didn’t stand me up, kid. Been trying to keep people in this damn old house for years. Everybody just up and leaves. Tired of getting stiffed! Last couple left most of their stuff. Hope you don’t mind.”
[Giving a warning] “You should get a bat. Real handy. Lots of things you can do with a bat.”
“Well, howdy stranger.”
“Frank, we got us a Yankee in here!”
“You just passing through, or staying around for a bit?”
“You a Yank?”
“Aw, yer all right.”
“Yank name!”
A teacher from the town who runs into some of her students at the gas station.
“Hello, girls! I haven’t seen you in forever!”
"Look how big you’ve gotten!"
“Is that right? Are you being good for your new teacher?”
“Misses Mayberry!”
“We’re in fourth now!”
“Yes ma’am!”
“Hi, Misses Mayberry!”
“Daddy’s gettin’ ice!”
“Yes ma’am!”
The voice of an audiobook that Sylvia listens to.
“How nice… to feel nothing…"
“And still get full credit for being alive.”
