Webcomic: Nexus Underground, chapter 3
Project Overview
Intro
Hi! My name is Kelsey, also known as RogueUzu on Twitter! I have a webcomic, called Nexus Underground. It is a PG-13+ action and drama comic based in urban fantasy. I host this comic on my personal website where I can create and share my comic in whatever format I wish at the time- Which includes doing short video updates from time to time! As I do more video updates, I would love for my characters to be voice acted! Which brings me here!
Need To Know
This is a casting call for a paid opportunity! Since I am personally paying for this, I will not be able to pay per take or per word, I will be paying 3$ per line. I am happy to negotiate but please understand that this is out of my own pocket. Thank you in advance.
End pay is preferred to be through PayPal but can be talked about.
The videos for this comic is for a personal project, so it’s a not-for-profit project that I am just doing in my own time for this moment. It is for fun and uses only my own story and my own characters and content.
I hope to do a video update at least once every chapter, so the voices for the Main Characters⭐ would have to be open to being contacted again for further future work!
Each video is not long but will always consist of a handful of lines so each actor is promised to at least make 20$ for each video.
These videos will be posted to youtube and will always include credit and links or contact information for the actors chosen!
As I’m the only one working on the art and video editing, the final products of the videos can take a good amount of time to finish. So you will not be seeing the finished product for possibly 2 or 3 months. And it will not be public for even longer.
For the chosen VA’s, I will pay half up front and then you will receive the rest after the final lines are delivered to me.
What I would like.
At least 3 takes per line.
Your audio must be clean and edited.
Please be open to contact through email or discord, especially if you are cast as one of the Main Characters⭐, because this is a long running project and I will have further future work for you!
Timeline
September 3rd 11:59pm PDT: Casting Call is closed.
September 10th: Chosen VAs are contacted this day at the latest
September 19th 11:59pm PDT: All voice lines by the chosen VAs are due.
September 26th 11:59pm PDT: Time for additional takes or retakes if asked for are due then.

Kova
(Koh-vah)
Main Character⭐ Needs to be able to make action sounds
Indingenous, Inuit- 24 years old, male with masculine, medium voice that can lean deep. No distinct accent. Is the tough and quiet character. Comes off as angry all the time but he is actually very lonely and has just been hurt a lot.
Annoyed and wanting to get this over with, "Name's Kova. I've got fire and that's it… Are we done?"
Growing angrier with each word "Back off! I am SICK of this BULLSHIT."
Taken aback, confused, "Uh… S-sure… I guess hot chocolate is fine…"
Nairi
(Nay-ree)
Main Character⭐ Needs to be able to make action sounds
- Mix white and indo-european and middle eastern, Armenian/Irish- 22 year old, female tomboyish voice. Medium pitch voice but willing to hear a lean into higher pitched. No distinct accent but willing to hear light options. Is the deadpan and sarcastic character that can have sudden outbursts when comfortable.
Pretty matter of fact, bored. "I'm Nairi Kyna Rivest. If ya can see and hear me, that's good. Super stealth can be a real bitch sometimes." (Kyna= Key-nah. Rivest= Rih- veh-st)
Panicked, "I don’t know!? No!? Listen, I just wanted to help!"
Perking up, "Oooh, do you have little marshmellows?"
Reine
(Ray-Nh)
Main Character⭐ Needs to be able to make action sounds
- White, Russian/American - 24 year old, female primarily mid pitched voice. No distinct accent. Bubbly and overly positive, she always tries to make everyone around her feel welcomed. She wears her emotions on her sleeve.
Upbeat and social "My name is Reine! Reine Kolton! I'm a Solus with extreme strength! It's nice to meet you!" (Kolton= Koh-L-tuhn) (Solus = Soul-us)
Shocked and desperate, "Wait! Please! This is all a misunderstanding!"
Very dutiful and commanding, "Avyra… It's time for the emergency hot cocoa!" (Avyra=: Ah-veer-ruh)
Samson
(Sam-sn)
Main Character⭐ Needs to be able to make action sounds
-Mix white and middle eastern, Greek/Arabian- 25 year old, male warm lower tone voice. No distinct accent. He is a warm presence in the room and Reine’s working braincell. More often in a state of worry but does his best to find the best solutions to problems his friends face.
Humble yet awkward "Hello there. My name's Samson Amin. I'm an Areth with the power of fast healing -nervous laugh-" (Amin= Ah-mee-nh) (Areth= Air-eth)
Scolding "What were you thinking? Do you know how much you scared us!?"
Exasperated but amused, "Aaah. Oh no, she's called for the chocolate reserves."
Needs to be able to make action sounds
- White- 36 year old- Male, deep medium voice. No distinct accent. Very standard and stereotypical cop character
Calling out, “Hey buddy, I’m talking to you!”
Alerting others over radio, “I need backup here! There are a group of Solus’ and Areths using their powers and obstructing arrest. I repeat, I need backup!” (Solus’ = Soul-us-es) (Areths= Air-eths)
2 reactionary sounds of being hit and 2 sounds of attacking
