About This Project
Hello! I’m creating a short, funny 2D hand-drawn animation and looking for a beginner voice actor who also enjoys singing!
This project is especially aimed at new or inexperienced voice actors who want to gain experience working with an animator but aren’t quite ready to take on larger projects.
The animation follows an 18-year-old girl who happily records herself singing Firework by Katy Perry, imagining that she sounds like a professional singer. However, when she plays the recording back, her voice sounds absolutely terrible, leading to a hilarious and exaggerated cartoon reaction!
I will be posting this on Youtube and I will add the YT link after the project is finished.
Who Can Audition?
Beginners are very welcome! You don’t need professional experience or expensive recording equipment. I’m mainly looking for someone who enjoys singing, can act expressively, and is willing to have fun with the character.
This is a small, beginner-friendly project intended to give aspiring voice actors a chance to practice, build confidence, and gain experience collaborating on an animation.

For this animation, you should be able to sing the chorus to Firework by Katy Perry decently in the same key of the original song, then be able to sing the same lines horribly. This is just a note, if you already auditioned you don’t need to submit a recording of you singing.

A teenage girl with a big imagination. Voice with happiness but a slight change in emotion near the end. 5 lines. No professional mic needed, no voice acting or singing experience needed. Any recording device is acceptable.
