Voice of the Soul - Mockup Pilot
Project Overview
Salutations, one and all! This casting call is for the mock-up pilot of "Voice of the Soul." I am producing a pilot episode featuring the main characters of a future animated series called: “Voice of the Soul”. The pilot is composed of 2D drawn animation in a still format drawn by me – a unique spin on the horror and family genres. I also wrote the pilot script and its respective characters.
I am casting for voices to every spoken character in the pilot. From the members of the main cast, to the supporting minor characters. Applicants may apply for multiple roles if they choose to, but each character voice has to be able to make each one significantly different.
All roles are in the English language. For most roles (except Clement/The Conductor), voice actors are free to speak in the language of the present day.
To make it clear, this is an unpaid passion project. This stands for everyone, cast and crew.
All of the chosen voice actors though will be showcased in the ending credits of the pilot, under their respective character roles. They will also have the right to put this pilot on their portfolios as an acting credit.
PILOT OVERVIEW
"Voice of the Soul" is a horror family series pilot that tells the tale of a sinister wendigo demon from Hell with a strong passion for music, and the street musician girl he meets one day who shares the same dedication. The episode will be produced like a professional pilot with artwork, music, sound effects, and thorough video editing. It is 35 minutes long, with introduction and end credits added.
DEADLINES AND AUDITIONS
The deadline for the auditions is October 31st, 2026. If circumstances demand it though, there may be a week’s extension on the date. I’ll notify the selected voice actors by November the 10th at the latest. They will also get a link and password to a private cast server on Discord, where the scripts will be distributed.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Everyone will be treated fairly and equally throughout the auditions, regardless whether they get chosen or not.
The chosen candidates will be expected to collaborate and communicate with me through Discord for voiceover work. If you are currently unfamiliar with Discord, I strongly recommend learning the basics before submitting applications for the roles.
WHAT I ASK OF YOU
Firstly, make sure that you’re having fun while doing this. I am open to talented individuals from multiple places, but the best work comes from people who genuinely enjoy playing their characters!
NO minors (people under 18) are allowed to audition for the mockup pilot.
Please submit clean recordings (Audacity etc) – no air conditioners in the background or similar.
While I am handling the editing and post-production personally, I would prefer it if there is less noise reduction to do on the recordings. Also, please don't add effects to your recordings.
Feel free to cut your lines to your best recordings, to a minimum of 3.
There might be a possibility of line re-dos, but this would only be done as a last-option and some consideration. I realise that every applicant’s time is valuable, and I won't ask for anything that I can't work around in edits.
Finally, I would like to cast people for the roles who might like to come back for future projects. I am currently pitching the pilot’s script to industry professionals and intend to do the same with the completed pilot once done.
Every auditionee has the right to post submissions however they want. If you want to post publicly, then you can – but it’s not compulsory. If you want to keep your privacy, then you can make a Private or Unlisted submission. I will respect people’s personal preferences.
WHO AM I?
I am an aspiring scriptwriter and artist who likes to write interesting, entertaining stories of all kinds. I also like to make characters that are nuanced, complicated, and have lots of character potential. I also help other people out with their respective stories as ‘beta reader’ and / or editor from time to time.

Voice Actor
A powerful, sinister wendigo demon who’s been in Hell since the 1950s. Once a talented orchestra conductor in life, now a savage but cunning monster who preys on the unwary. Darkly charismatic and smooth, a perfect gentleman ... yet dangerous underneath. His powers range from control of the forces of winter to manipulating people through music. Clement is one of the two lead characters of the pilot, and a member of the main cast. Applicants must be able to deliver with a Boston accent (born or practiced). Around 42 lines. Deliver as separate WAVS.

Voice Actor
A college graduate and viola-player who lives in Buffalo, Wyoming, with her best friend, Ozmilla. She busks on the streets every day, but has dreams of playing in an orchestra one day. A kind, passionate, and friendly girl, she is polite to most people but hides an assertive side that will not put up with rude behaviour from anyone! Ember is one of the two lead characters of the pilot, and a member of the main cast. Around 59 lines. Deliver as separate WAVS.

Voice Actor
An artistic college graduate who works as a crystal healer and lives with her best friend Ember in the town of Buffalo. Ozmilla also owns a tortoiseshell cat called Griffin. She is compassionate and generous, but also tough and wary of exploitative people. Ozmilla is the deuteragonist of the pilot, and a member of the main cast. Around 28 lines. Deliver as separate WAVS.

Voice Actor
A prim and proper ‘spirit girl’ who serves as one of Clement’s minions, alongside Tufty and his kindred. She obeys the Conductor, but dislikes being treated as just ‘the help’ by the jackalopes. This is subtly disguised though – by dry remarks and sarcasm. Pianette is an ally character in the pilot, and a member of the main cast. Around 12 lines. Deliver as separate WAVS.

Voice Actor
An aggressive, coarse male jackalope with a sadistic sense of humour, who serves the Conductor as his second-in command. Tufty is almost perpetually grumpy, and acts like a stereotypical middle-aged father … with fur and floppy ears. He is the patriarch of his 13-member clan of jackalopes, a savage hunter, and has an open rivalry with Pianette (Clement’s other minion). Tufty is the contagonist of the pilot, and a member of the main cast. Around 5 lines. Deliver as separate WAVS.
