(VA's and Artist needed) Project Foster - Manga-Inspired Original Fantasy Audio-Drama
Project Overview
Hello! This is gonna be a simple project, so I'll be concise.
My name is Arthur "Logan", you may call me either-or. I am a writer, artist, VA, and am currently bored out of my skull.
So I decided to jump-start on my personal project.
This is going to be a sort of manga-audio-drama type thing, almost like a comic dub. The project title is Project Foster, while the story title is Brushstroke, a fantasy story about a young painter traveling the world with his friends. It is my own story and something I hope to expand upon one day, maybe even create an official manga or anime.
You can watch the preview here.
What I want this Project to be:
-5 to 10 short "chapters" that function as a sort of pilot for the story,
each ranging from 3 to 8 minutes long, maybe more.
-Most will be connected in narrative, but some will not.
-The minimum is five chapters, but if we're able, I'd love to do more.
-I'm not looking at animation or anything hugely complex,
I just cannot afford that, as much as I would love to take that extra step.
I am broke and working with what I can get, plain and simple.
-I do not plan on abandoning this project, as I work on it every other day,
whether it be general artistry, fleshing out the world, or working on the scripts.
-Lastly, this is a proof-of-concept, meaning it's to set everything up for
the future of the series, however big or small it becomes.
Rules are fairly simple:
1. Have a good mic and little-to-no background noise.
2. I'm a little more lenient than most, but make sure your lines are in on time.
3. Be kind, respectful, and cooperative with your fellows.
4. Have a Discord or be okay to make one.

I'd like to get more auditions for Trefor and I might have to recast another role soon. That will be a seperate call, so consider this one closed.

Trefor VA deadline extended
Gonna spend a little more time looking for auditions for Trefor, so the deadline will be extended to December 11th. -
Approaching deadline...
Alright! I'll be picking the Greymor's VA and an artist tomorrow. Thanks to all who auditioned! Stay tuned for more roles for Project Foster, there's gonna be quite a few minor, supporting, and even major characters down the line! -
New Role added!
Added another VA role, for anyone interested. There may be more down the line, but we'll have to see.
"Greymor is an experienced wizard and retired battlemage. At roughly 250 years of age, he's still a formidable opponent, though he prefers isolation in his books to the chaos of battle. When the Age of Ruin began, a period of darkness that blotted the sun out for two decades, Greymor took it upon himself to go around to the local villages, using magick to prevent crops from withering and causing the people to starve.
It was during this time that he met a young farm boy, Krest White. The boy had witnessed him using magic to restore decayed crops to life, and became fascinated with the how's and why's of magick, asking many a question, eventually leading to him begging he take him on as an apprentice. Greymor, reluctant to do after the fate of his previous apprentice, declined many times. But the youth's persistence eventually got the better of him.
Once the Ruin had ended, Krest had set out on his own path with his friends, journeying out of their village to explore the world. With some parting guidance, Greymor saw him off. They still keep in contact through letters; Krest with questions, and Greymor with answers."
Looking for a raspy, wizened voice. The best example I can give is Christopher Lambert's take on Raiden. However, any take on the voice is welcome. Keep in mind, while his age is advanced, Greymor is not some withered old man. His physical appearance appears to be more middle-aged than anything.
While he will appear in certain points in the story, he is primarily the narrator. With bits at the beginning of each chapter.
(Amused) "Nonsense. Royalty has always patronized the arts, Krest. And yet, the arts have relied on the support of royalty."
(Gravely/Matter-of-factly) "I never told you because it was never important enough to tell you. Why would I so readily destroy a bond that has taken so many years to form?"
(Narration) Twenty years ago, a darkness fell upon the land...snuffing out the sun and sweeping away the color, the life of the world...
This is mainly a supporting thing, as I do most of the artwork myself. The issue is I absolutely suck at anatomy and poses, to the point everything looks off-model. What I need is someone who can draw the outline of the characters in a given scene (sitting at a table, crouched down, looking up, etc). That's all you need to do, I can do the rest.
I recommend watching the preview (check the description) to see how the final-product is meant to look. While it's meant to be improved with your additions, it's best to try and match the style to smooth out the workload. But I can make the necessary adjustments as long as I get the base outline.
You can submit an outline or your portfolio, either works.
Say something you think would fit
Twenty years ago, the youngest Scarlet Emperor, King Fjor, reigned. He was popular among the people and aristocracy, the army and the courts. Charismatic, fair, and clever, it was a golden age under his rule, and the empire prospered. However, he was perhaps most famous, or infamous, for his close bond with Kaede Foster, a blue-haired necromancer and assassin, revered and feared by many. To Fjor, he was a blood-brother. They laughed, they bickered, and even fought on numerous occasions. But they always remained close.
Then, Foster killed him.
Trefor, the son of Fjor, was a mere ten years of age when his honorary uncle betrayed them, and he succeeded his father as Emperor. In the following years, when the sun was blotted out, dubbed the "Age of Ruin", Trefor grew up quickly to successfully manage the Empire his father had ruled. Once a sweet kid, now a shadow of what his father was.
At thirty years of age, Trefor rules the Scarlet Empire well enough. Leading a small-scale war against the Ash Elves without much difficulty. But many still see him as his father's lesser, much to his disdain and repressed sorrow. He distracts himself from the naysayers by investigating his former uncle, who disappeared and was presumed dead after the Ruin began. But Trefor knew his uncle better than that. He knew he was alive.
And he wouldn't stop until he found him, and asked...
"Why?"
[Tefor has a welsh accent, with still somewhat young-ish, but authoritative tone of voice. He's not some lazy king, sitting on his throne and ignorant to his people and empire's plight, he's proactive and competent.]
(Tired, appeasing)
I'm not sad, just realistic. There's a fine difference between the two, but nothing you should concern yourself about, my friend.(Seriously)
I don't hate the Ash Elves. Strong words, especially when you realize they were here on Kalv'er [pronounced "Cal-Vare"] long before we Men came from the East and...well, turned things here on their head.(Announcing)
As Emperor of the Scarlet Empire, I hereby raise the bounty for Kaede Foster, aka Death's Hand, murderer of my father Emperor Fjor, to one million in gold and silver bits, or the Elvish equivalent of five-hundred thousand way-gems...
