Agents in the Dark [1944 - Historical Novel. SOE.]

Project Overview

In the novel, I intend to get a sense of historical authenticity, whilst also sharing light on some brave people. The characters will be completely fictional, but embodying people that have truly lived, those of Special Operations Executive Agents.

The story will begin The First of March, 1944. Three SOE agents had been dropped in France, to take out a German SS-Obersturmführer and cause public resistance against the Third Reich in Rennes. Dropping in from the unoccupied zone of France, they began moving upwards and soon reached the city.

I decided to begin on this project because instead of making a sequel to my previous work - And soon released book - Skyhunter, I wanted to try my hand at something more historical that could cause awareness and a sense of understanding for often forgotten history.

This is going to be a massive work in progress, and I don't ask for a hundred percent of your time, I just ask for a hundred percent of your passion.

Here's a paragraph from the book:

"Thank you, that'll be all."

The sound of the German struggling against the binds and mumbling beneath the mouth-fold looms in the cellar, and my finger squeezes down on the trigger, a small light pop escaping the exhaust of the welrod. Silenced weaponry, surprisingly practical. The head of the Nazi now has an entirely new hole right between his eyes, the information I got, unfortunately it wasn't enough. I twist the back of the welrod and jut it back to have the bullet fly out of the chamber and drop to the floor.
