Trials of the Burdened
Project Overview
Trials of the Burdened is the story of 5 unusual heroes who fight in an epic struggle to free the Earth from a malignant force that threatens to destroy everything they know.
The game will require a number of skilled voice actors with studio quality microphones and little to no background noise. Please note that this project requires a fairly large amount of commitment so we would ask that you only audition if you're sure you're able to see this through to the end.
At the current time we are aiming to have casting done by mid September as we are making solid progress on the script but this may change with a large response from the voice acting community.

Brumn lost his family and as such lost his purpose in life until a mysterious figure tasked him with ridding the Earth of the Scourge. Quick-tempered and a bit of a grump. Though his knack for anger often gets him into trouble he is ultimately good at heart.
“It’s literally a crypt, kid. I don’t think it got too much attention even before the Scourge invaded.”
“Mephi’s right, keep your damn voices down.”
“SHUT!!! UP!!! FFFFUCK!!! If you’re gonna just stand around and wave your dicks at each other I’ll kill it myself!”
Mephi lost her memory in an incident with the Scourge and now has no idea who she is. When a mysterious figure found her and offered her a task she had a hunch that it would lead her back to her past. Slightly shy but full of voice when in a tight situation, Mephi is as kind-hearted as it gets.
“Uhhh guys… Is it just me or does that look meaner than the Scourge on the surface?”
“And what are you using Scourge Essence for exactly?”
“If you both keep this up then they definitely will.”
The youngest of the group, Cerrus was saved from the Scourge by a mysterious stranger and felt indebted to him for saving his life. He may be a bit naive occasionally but at only 18 years old he is regarded as having the 15th highest level of intelligence of any human to ever exist. Quick witted and sarcastic when he needs to be but not fully weighed down by life just yet.
“Yeah I don’t remember them being that… Fucking horrifying…”
“Only one way to find out I guess…”
“So… Doesn’t seem like much is happening… Wasn’t somethin meant to happen after we killed it?”
Annhi is the second oldest of the group by far the least mature. Found by a mysterious figure after fighting off a horde of Scourge with her best friend, Doros, she decided to try to rid her home of the intrusive plague, if only so she could return to her life of blacksmithing, drinking and messing around. Incredibly quick witted, really enjoys picking on Brumn, much to his distaste. Annhi is also secretly a natural born leader but is hesitant to take up this role as she dislikes responsibility.
“Are you really glancing past our resident pensioner here yelling “Bingo!”?”
“I’m just sad I won’t be disposing of the biggest eyesore in the room…”
“Yeah bud, I kinda agree with you there… I mean, this place looks long and winding… One wrong move, you’d get separated from the group and then… BAM!!!”
Doros is a large, bearded, friendly European man who was with Annhi when she met the mysterious figure and decided to tag along for the ride. He is the strongest of the team but also the most easily scared. Doros wants nothing more than to finish his quest so that he can return back to his life of drinking and watching his best friend Annhi make amazing contraptions.
“Annhi please focus, I don’t want your snide, distracting remarks getting me killed!”
“Uhhh… I’m a little confused, what’re you doing down here?”
“Well... Shit…”
Mysterious and otherworldly, the Mysterious Figure gathered the team to rid the Earth of the Scourge for him. Not much is known about him other than that he owns a travelling shop and does mostly as he pleases.
"Before we begin, there are a few things that must be said..."
“After millions of years of searching the stars, on an isolated world at the end of a solar backroad from the constellation of Orion, they discovered the secrets they sought.”
“What may look like trash may actually be rather useful, young Doros. You can have it if you like… For a fee…”
The Scourgemother is a being who manifests herself as a force known as the Scourge. She is incredbily old, incredibly wise and incredibly pissed off after being sealed away for what seemed like an eternity. She wishes nothing more than to wreak havoc on the Earth and reform it in her image.
"None know my pain but all shall know my fury!"
"Is this truly the best you can muster?! 5 humans with no discernable abilities whatsoever?!"
"My Scourge shall flay this planet and we shall rebuild anew... It will be as it should have been..."
Experience in science-fantasy art for 2D games and detailed concept art would be beneficial but as long as you have a good-looking portfolio you stand a good chance of being welcomed onboard. We're looking for between 1 and 3 people depending on availability.
