Project Overview

Tied is a 2D animated narrative short film that follows Darcy, a recently laid off office worker, that decides to return to her portside hometown. During Darcy’s visit, home constantly reminds her of her recent “failure” and is faced with the challenge of repairing her relationship with her stoic fisherwoman mother, Pascha.

Pascha is a quiet, 60-something year-old, salmon fisherwoman, as well as being the mother to Darcy, the protagonist of TIED. Pascha is rather reserved and stoic. This exterior can come off as cold and apathetic, but in reality she is just rather quiet and decides to keep to herself.

*It is important for this role to be played by someone who can pull off an authentic older woman voice. We want to avoid having a stereotypical "granny" voice and can embody the spirit of a strong woman who just happens to be much older.
