The world's Worst People
Project Overview
The World's Worst People
An original 2D animated series | Long-term project
(ALL OTHER ROLES WILL BE ADDED ONCE WE GET A DIRECTOR AND A PRODUCER)
About the Series
The World's Worst People follows five incredibly rich people who have all been cancelled for something they've done. They come from different backgrounds, have completely different personalities and each have their own story, but they share one thing in common: they've all managed to ruin their public reputations.
Just when they think things couldn't get much worse, they get contacted by an investor offering them a chance at the greatest comeback in the world. There's just one catch: they all have to work together on the same project.
Sounds easy enough, right? Not when every single one of them has an ego the size of their bank account.
They argue over practically everything, from the smallest details to the biggest decisions. Everyone thinks they're the smartest person in the room, nobody wants to admit they're wrong, and working together might just be harder than whatever got them cancelled in the first place.
The series will focus on their clashing personalities, individual backstories, complicated relationships, scandals, and attempts to rebuild their reputations. Expect drama, dark comedy, plenty of tension, and a world full of wealthy people who are absolutely terrible at getting along.
There will be five main characters, alongside lots of one-off side characters who appear throughout the series. Each episode can introduce new personalities, conflicts, and situations without needing every side character to become a recurring one.
The Art Style
The series will use stylized 2D animation, with a bold, expressive visual style inspired by shows such as Hazbin Hotel. We're aiming for distinctive character designs, expressive movements, strong silhouettes, and an overall polished animated look.
The goal is to create a visually memorable series with its own identity, not to copy another show's characters, designs, or storytelling.
The Production Team
This is a long-term project, and we're looking for people who are interested in being part of a collaborative team and helping bring an original animated series to life.
We're looking for:
- Voice Actors: Bring the main cast and side characters to life through voice performances.
- Directors: Help shape the plot, make creative decisions, guide the storytelling, and work with the creative team to bring episodes together.
- Producers: Handle planning, organization, communication, and the day-to-day coordination of production.
- Animators: Animate scenes and help bring the series to life.
- Artists: Work on character designs, backgrounds, scenes, and other visual elements.
- Writers: Develop episodes, dialogue, character arcs, and storylines.
- Storyboard Artists: Turn scripts into visual sequences and plan how scenes will play out.
- Editors: Help assemble scenes and refine the final episodes.
- Marketing Managers: Handle promotional content, recruitment promotions, and helping the project reach an audience.
- More roles: Additional creative and production positions may be added as the project develops.
You don't have to be able to do everything. Different people have different strengths, and the point is to build a team where everyone can contribute what they're good at.
My Role
I'll be overseeing the overall production as the founder and executive producer.
I'll handle the overall vision, major creative approvals, leadership appointments, project priorities, and final decisions on significant disputes. I'll also help establish clear expectations, maintain respectful treatment across the team, make fair decisions, set reasonable boundaries, and provide support when it's needed.
Directors will have room to make most of the day-to-day creative decisions and develop the plot, while producers will focus on planning and organization. The goal is to give everyone room to contribute creatively while keeping the overall project organized and consistent.
I want this to be a team where people can share ideas, communicate comfortably, and disagree respectfully. Having different opinions shouldn't be a problem, and nobody should feel like they have to be afraid of speaking up.
Important Information
- This is a fully unpaid project. There is no financial compensation, so please only join if you're comfortable volunteering your time.
- No AI-generated art or other AI-generated creative assets are tolerated. The project is intended to be made through human creativity and collaboration.
- This is a long-term commitment, so reliability and communication matter.
- Respect for other team members is expected.
- You should be willing to collaborate, accept constructive feedback, and respect other people's contributions.
- You don't need to be perfect or have years of experience. What matters is your skills, willingness to learn where appropriate, and genuine interest in the project.
Please only audition or apply for a role you can realistically commit to. We understand that people have school, work, personal commitments, and other projects, and communication is always better than silently disappearing.
