The Starborn Collective (Original Sci-Fi Audio Drama) - Main Roles!
Project Overview
What is The Starborn Collective?
The Starborn Collective is a collection of three audio dramas - Two initial ones, titled Infested and Subliminals, and then Starborn, a sequel that voice actors from this wave will also be involved in. It will be produced by me, amidst a team of assistants who will be helping to produce it. It is a project that has been in development for several years but has now found its footing enough to begin the early stages of production.
Requirements:
Everyone on this team is relatively new and inexperienced, so we try to hold ourselves to the same standard that we hold any auditioning voice actors. You do not need to have a professional setup, however having a microphone that can record in good quality and having access to Discord is key to being able to partake in this project. A link to the public Discord server we have created can be found later in this description.
Payment:
Unfortunately, this project is pay-free for the foreseeable future. This is a passion project at the moment that we hope to gain traction on in the future, but it is not currently in our budget to provide payment as we are all young and aspiring creators. Of course, this is subject to change in the distant future if all goes well but is a consideration for the distant future.
Role Significance:
Some voice actors will have to fulfil greater expectations than others depending on the importance of the character that they voice. For example, being in a leading role for this project means that you will likely be interacting with myself and the other producers frequently, so it is good not to have an aversion to social interaction and becoming acquainted with us as a staff team and a community.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Most characters in this show are LGBTQ+ and end up in relationships that are also LGBTQ+. If you aren’t comfortable with portraying that, it’s best not to audition! Thank you!

Production on this project is a bit slow right now, seeing as we've only got one writer (our creator, Eden!), but we're working to remedy that actively!

MAIN PROTAGONIST // LEAD ROLE!! Quark has a bright and somewhat bombastic energy to him, carrying both an egotistical facade and a heart filled with care for others, as well as an extreme tendency for impulsivity. Despite his slight arrogance on the surface, it is abundantly clear that he cares deeply for the people around him, making him easy to joke and banter with from the get-go. For this reason, he is good at making friends, and often makes the rooms more lively. Some inspirations for Quark include The Tenth Doctor.

Main Protagonist // Main Character. Ashley Brannock is a man whose heart is much larger than he would like to admit. He’s someone who’s always loved hard- He loves his family, his friends, his boyfriend, and now, his crew. He’ll do anything for anyone on the Avernus, which is the name of the ship he’s the captain (or, officially, Luminary) of. Despite everything, he’s very skilled at cracking a joke at the right time, and is known for being more than a little chaotic. He’s easily angered, though– And will snap at those he feels need to be put in their place. His passion for the cosmos is out of this world, and he prides himself on his knowledge. Ash’s speech patterns are akin to that of Caelus (Honkai: Star Rail).

“Hey, my name’s Ashley Brannock, Luminary of the Avernus! You can just call me Ash, though.”
“What the hell did you guys do-!? We were gone for three minutes!”
“… On behalf of my friends… As their voice, their power, and their desires… As their captain, I’ll be finishing this.”
Main Protagonist. Alina Pierce is the captain of The Sedulous, the ship and crew that this story follows. Alina is a strong leader with an attitude built to withstand the pressures of her responsibilities, while also maintaining a fun and light-hearted energy as well, bringing just enough sass and playfulness to the table. She has a big heart and loves her crew, and she is very protective of them. Alina is inspired by Emma Fisher - Observation (2019).

“My name’s Alina Pierce, Captain of the Sedulous.”
“Don’t strain yourself too hard. Even with your fancy powers, you still have a concussion.”
“I have and always will do everything I can to protect all of you. And right now, if you need that protection, then I’m here to offer it.”
Main Protagonist. V.E.L.A, also known as the Virtual Exoplanetary Laboratory Assistant, is an A.I. Robot designed to assist the Sedulous in their goal of researching Exoplanets. He was designed to have a certain level of sentience, so he has developed a personality unique to him and truly feels to a certain degree. He is very polite and enjoys helping the crew out. He is incredibly respectful and holds reverence for the others, Especially Alina. VELA is inspired by SAM - Observation (2019), VEGA - Doom.
NOTE: VELA is listed as either British or American. For those doing a British accent, I am looking for a subtle accent, not very thick. Regardless, his voice should be gentle but robotic.

“I am not capable of lying, Captain. Let us proceed.”
“I share your feelings regarding the people you lead, Alina. I would not share information that would have the chance of being incorrect and, consequently, dangerous.”
Main Protagonist. Aster Trueblood is a rather reserved man, having preferred books over people since he was young. He’s very knowledgeable on a variety of sciences, and won’t hesitate to get a bit stern with you if you won’t listen to Ash. He’s a very reserved person, but once you get to know him, he’s prone to making the occasional wry joke and sarcastic comment (always somehow perfectly timed). Please note that he’s got a tendency to talk a lot! If you audition, be sure you’re ready for long lines for Aster. Aster’s got a lot in common with Dan Heng (Honkai Star Rail).

Main Protagonist. Brianna Bailey is an odd woman, seeming to always have her head in the clouds. She’s very intelligent, and serves as the Avernus’s medic, or Curator, but she doesn’t seem to exude that energy, exactly, instead almost purposefully going for that ditzy, ‘idiotic’ energy. She tends to exploit her looks and personality to get some particularly strange individuals to do her bidding, whenever she isn’t tending to her wounded crew members. Bri’s primarily inspired by classic characters such as Barbie, but she’s also got a lot of inspiration taken from characters such as March 7th (Honkai: Star Rail).

Main Protagonist. Jove is a laid-back, casual person who likes to go with the flow. He often doesn't show strong emotions even if he's feeling them. Through this veil of casualness, he is a very attentive person who likes to listen to those around them and take in his surroundings, and akin himself with the people in it. He has no issue taking a rough situation and making it much more lighthearted, and put a smile on the faces of those around him. Unfortunately, we can’t pinpoint Jove’s inspirations right now!

“What am I doing? Well, you couldn’t stay quiet to save your life, so I’m using what you told me to my advantage.”
Main Protagonist. Prys is a rather naive fellow, and Alora Cavell’s apprentice — learning the ins and outs of being a mechanic under someone as famed as her felt like a dream come true. He has a very positive (maybe almost idiotic) outlook on the world, and carries that with him wherever he goes. He adores every member of the Avernus with all his heart, and would do anything for any of them. Prys gives off the energy of an older Yanqing (Honkai: Star Rail).

“Ooh, what’s this? It has pretty flowers on it, I thought Alora might like it…”
“I’m — I’m not a kid, you don’t need to act like I can’t suck it up.”
Main Protagonist. Vari’s a very skilled combatant, and not for nothing. She has a sharp tongue and a quick wit, and always has a snarky response to go with the punches she throws. She’s very stubborn, and doesn’t take no for an answer, and isn’t the easiest to boss around, but she’s absolutely fantastic company, especially for if you just need someone to vent to. She’s very angry at the world around her, but she’d do anything for the people she cares about. Vari’s very similar to Dehya (Genshin Impact).

Main Protagonist. Gaia is an assistant to Codon, skilled especially in communications management. She is strong-willed and tough, but she is ultimately a very sweet and eloquently spoken person. She is sociable and easy to talk to, but she cherishes time alone and enjoys calm, serene activities in her free time, such as meditation, arts, etc. Gaia is a character that is still very early in development, so her inspirations have yet to be selected.
