If you enjoy things like the Paper Mario series and the TV show SpongeBob Squarepants, this project might interest you.
The SpongeBob Squarepants Movie: Dawn of the Void is a Project that combines two of my hyper-fixations: the show SpongeBob Squarepants with the story of the 2007 video game Super Paper Mario! The basis is that instead of Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Bowser being the 4 heroes, it is SpongeBob, Patrick, Sandy, and Squidward. But this does cause quite a few changes such as the interaction between Characters and how everyone gets through each world.
The Story takes place at the end of the SpongeBob timeline. Even and especially after the 1st movie which I believe is already towards the end.
I started off writing it on Archive of our Own (AO3) but part way through it I realized that it would be much better as an animated YouTube series Which requires the skills I don't possess, so I need help bringing the Greatest Mario Story ever told but with SpongeBob to life. I count this as an Original project but also a fan project given SpongeBob Squarepants and Super Paper Mario are pre-existing entities.
I'd encourage people if they want to help with this to feel free and audition for any role. I'd rather people come because they are interested rather than because I asked people to help, When people have an interest in something it genuinely makes it a fun experience and that's what I want: A fun experience for everyone involved.

I am heavily Considering reverting this project back to being a comic dub, if this happens the only thing that changes is the animator role.
The reason I am considering this is because
It's having no luck in the Casting Call
A comic dub is far easier to manage
If it comes down to it I physically am capable of Drawing

However If you want to make renditions from more of the soundtrack for this it is permitted as long as a discussion is had!

The Narrator from Super Paper Mario will be at odds with Frenchy whenever they appears, or more-so Frenchy is at odds with them. Eventually they will be fine with each other. The Narrator should have a more calm and collected voice, maybe kind of elegant. He's just trying to tell us about the lost book of prophecies. In Super Paper Mario he canonically appears at the Beginning and the End of the story. But it can be interpreted that he's the one narrating in between levels.

*Clears throat* "Ahem!, back to the story I was about to tell you. This Prophetic book was a mysterious tome full of stories of future event-"

The French Narrator from SpongeBob Squarepants! Frenchy is mostly just a supporting character and generally reads time cards, and tends to Narrate the beginning of episodes, the end of some times. He is good friends with Sandy Cheeks. How big his role will be in this story though is still being debated, will definitely need help with that.
Preferably should match up with Tom Kenny's voice of him!
"Wait a minute, What are you doing here this is my job!"
*Clears throat* "Ahh, Bikini Bottom, a town full of everybody's favorite sea creatures"

Our favorite yellow sponge and the Hero of prophecy! SpongeBob is energetic, optimistic, kind, childish... but like everyone he too has a breaking point and can get annoyed.
SpongeBob is the most prominent voice in this project!
Preferably should match up with Tom Kenny's voice from the early seasons and Movie! Just do your best though!

*Pleading and tired* "P-Patrick! Please, Snap out of it!"
The Dumb Lovable Ragebaiting Starfish and The Starfish Clad in Green! He has a natural ability to Ragebait absolutely everyone. Patrick is the dumb one of the group, but he isn't all dumb, sometimes he has moments where he says something smart but it doesn't last the moment. However he is not a complete idiot either. Patrick always means well, even if he messes something up. He will defend SpongeBob and what he can do to the likes of King Neptune himself. Even if he acts like a bad friend sometimes he usually never has ill intent.
RickPat, AKA the Pink Menace is Count Bleck's, a less than bright minion, though his most promising one. RickPat is mean, and gets annoyed at Dimentio sometimes but mainly at the 3 Heroes who he continues to lose to, He finds joy when they get scared and is less hesitant than Patrick Also a professional Ragebaiter. He is also smarter than Patrick Star, take the moments when Patrick is smart and that's basically RickPat, just way meaner and cockier. I wonder who he is behind the mask though...
Patrick's voice is deep, but not dark. Kind of childish, like a gentle giant almost except not as deep as that. RickPat has a very similar voice, except it's less goofy and gentle, not a whole lot less however
*Confident and also Ragebaiting* "Weak? SpongeBob can handle anything! Even you!"
*Rickpat annoyed* "Dimentio, what do you want now? I am not here for your dumb games!"
*Yelling over the Patty Wagon running* "HEY, DIMENTIO! GET BACK HERE!"
The one and relatable grouchy Squidward. Squidward hates his neighbors SpongeBob and Patrick. and also hates that he got roped into this whole adventure. Squidward is a self-proclaimed artist and loves to play his clarinet. Despite his hatred towards SpongeBob and Patrick (and everyone else), deep down he does have some care for them as much as he would deny it. His voice can sound a tiny bit nasally
*Angry* "HEY! WILL YOU KEEP IT DOWN, I'M TRYING TO READ OVER HERE MR. DARK AND GLOOMY"
*Sarcastic* "You know I would love to hear more about your little quest, but i'm busy, bye"
*Frustrated but also concerned* "So you're telling me that I was tagging a long with these bumbling fools this whole time and we still can't stop this?"
The Scientist of the Group and Texan; Sandy Cheeks. Sandy is a Female squirrel, she can be a bit extreme sometimes but she has spirit and is tough. Her voice should be female and have a Texan accent, however the accent should be pretty light, mostly just a hint of accent, nothing too heavy.
*Overly joyed* "SpongeBob! I was so worried, I thought something terrible might have happened"
"What in the alamo is going on here?"
*HNGH* "Everyone get out of here! I'll be fine, I've held up things a lot heavier than this ceiling!"
The Cheapskate Krab and Owner of the Krusty Krab. His favorite thing in the worlds is Money. Mr Krabs is extremely greedy, sometimes hypocritical, and irrationally cheap. Sometimes this greed causes him to make dumb decisions or immoral ones, like the time he sold SpongeBob's soul for 62 cents, which afterwards he did feel bad. Despite all the bad, part of him does care for his employees, and unlike the newer episodes he does care some bit.
His voice should not exactly be elderly, but he's definitely not young, he has the vibes of a pirate and sailor. Overall I would try to match up with the Clancy Brown's voice of Mr Krabs if possible, and the early season voice of him
Frustrated "You can't just pull up in me restaurant like that and start beating up on me employees, it costs me money!"
"Oh no, Get back here Mr Squidward. You're going with these two. No World means No Money!"

Mr Krabs' Archenemy, Evil Genuis, he went to College. Plankton is Normally the main villain in SpongeBob. Plankton is an egotistical, aggressive, power-hungry, and overall evil person, despite this, he sometimes can act as an Anti-Hero and has an obsession with World Domination. In this story however he is not the main villain.

Merlon is a wise wizard, one of the descendants of the ancients. He keeps the Light Prognosticus which was the book, He resides in the town of Flipside. Merlon is generally hopeful due to his faith in the heroes
Merlon's Voice should be that of an Old but wise and hopeful man.
Nolrem is a descendant of the Tribe of Darkness, and resides in the town of Flopside. Unlike Merlon's hopefullness, Nolrem is slightly more pessimistic view of things at times, however he still possesses some hope despite his more fatalistic attitude.
Nolrems voice should be similar to Merlons voice
"My name? Merlon! I am a descendant of the Ancients who created this town. I busy myself studying musty, ancient texts to forestall the end of all worlds!"
"Allow me to tell of something that mystical book has already divulged to me. One person will determine whether the Light or Dark Prognosticus predicts truly... Both books refer to him as 'The Star,' but I know not what this means... I must return to my study to solve this conundrum."
Nolrem "I know that what I have just shared with you might only serve to discourage you... I still must send you forth, however. It saddens me that I can do nothing else."
The Pixl known as Tippi a rainbow butterfly, She is one of the main voice roles and plays a major part in the story of Super Paper Mario. Tippi is mainly kind hearted however she can sound aggressive when annoyed. Her voice shouldn't exactly sound Robotic, but not fully human, if that makes sense. However throughout the server it should start sounding more human-like!
"The Union of these two will call forth the Chaos Heart, the consumer of worlds... And the Chaos Heart will ravage the sky, and so bring forth The Void."
Annoyed "Ugh. Who is stupider? You two? Or me, for listening to you... No more... Good-bye."
Determined "That is why SpongeBob and I have come... To stop you!"
Count Bleck is the main antagonist of Super Paper Mario and of this story, Count Bleck wants to use the Chaos Heart to summon the void, which in the end will destroy all worlds, all dimensions, and all existence. This is bad, however: Count Bleck is an incredibly broken man and is not all he seems at the start, he used to love someone...
Count Bleck's voice is deep and raspy, but only slightly raspy.
"Open your mouth, darkness! Consume everything and destroy all worlds, as told in the prophecy! BLECK!"
"Are you prepared, hero? Our duel will be worthy of the last clash the world will ever see!"
sadden, slight gentleness "Timpani... When you vanished. I searched long for you. I never gave up looking... I searched and searched... But I never found you."
Count Bleck's Right-Hand: Nastasia. She is cold and calculated, strict and unfeeling in the beginning.
Nastasia is loyal to Count Bleck, and even has feelings for him. She's also Responsible for brainwashing the citizens of Bikini Bottom that are in Castle Bleck.
"Yeah, um, being rude to the esteemed count is sort of frowned on, 'K?"
"Apparently there's been some unapproved interdimensional activity lately. Yeah... I'm thinking it's the hero of prophecy. We're gonna need an action plan for this guy..."
kind of pleading "Count Bleck! If... Um... If that Pixl is who you think it is... There's still time! You can still stop the prophecy from destroying everything! Yeah, because, if that 's really her... If she's alive, you have to stop all this!"
Dimentio is cunning, charismatic, mysterious, psychotic, and a sadist.
At the start, Dimentio seems like a lighthearted villain, who is a psychopath. Dimentio is very mischievous and eavesdrops on the other minions for information, including Count Bleck, he tends to and often speaks in a condescending or mocking manner and almost never not grins. His speech is pretty colorful, throwing gleeful insults at the heroes and using similes. However Dimentio is very intelligent and good at acting as he successfully tricks everybody and takes pleasure when he does attack his enemies.
Dimentio's voice should appear collected, maybe even calm with a hint of Sadism behind it. A word I think of when I think of a voice for him is "Ringmaster"
"I am Count Bleck's master of dimensions, the pleaser of crowds... I am... Dimentio! Remember the name well..."

Cocky "You think this is the end? This isn't finished... You can't... stop this now... you can't escape... " Absolutely Psychotic "I've been saving one last surprise... Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha... Ciao!"
O'Chunks is the all brawn, no brains minion of Count Bleck. He has a high eagerness to fight, but he is also pretty dimwitted and sometimes is slow to comprehend things. However he is very loyal to Count Bleck. O'Chunks voice should have a Scottish accent.
"Yeh shouldn't 'ave crossed the count! Now i'm going to 'av teh get chunky on yeh!"

Mimi is a minion of Count Bleck. She is a shapeshifter girl with an effervescent personality.
Her voice should be that of an innocent girl or teen girl...... and then there's Spider Mimi where she breaks her n- *Technical Issues*. Spider Mimi should sound the same, except demonic.
"I'm Lady Merlee's handmaid. My name's Mimi! But you can call me Mimikins if you want!"

Fracktail is the robotic guardian of the 2nd (Orange) Pure Heart, he has been waiting 1,500 years to let the hero pass. Fracktail also acts as the final boss of Chapter 1 due to Dimentio shocking him. His voice should sound robotic, but also should sound natural, so I would aim for 50/50. Fracktail, since he's a boss at the end of a chapter, doesn't have the biggest role so there is not much to say about him. Along with a robotic voice when he emerges his voice should be booming, but then settle down a tiny bit after he starts to scan SpongeBob.

Breaking down "I HAVE MALFUNCTIONED. WHAT HAVE I DONE... HERO... HERO... THE ERROR IS MINE. I AM SORRY... SHAME CIRCUIT... SMOLDERING. PLEASE... YOU MUST... SAVE... OUR... WORLD..."
Merlee is a descendant of the ancients and a charmer, she lives in a mansion in Gloam Valley and later moves to Flopside. Merlee is the one to inform the heroes that there are four heroes in total. She's not afraid to be stern either as shown when she talks to Mimi.
Her voice should be more of a middle-aged woman, not old but not too young.
"Hee hee hee hee hee! Found me! The real Merlee! I shine on, such is my lot, a sun to those fate to me brought..."
"I am sure the pair of you, SpongeBob and Sandy, you too, are the first of heroes true."
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... It's Merlee's House of Charms! Flopside branch, by my arms!"
Francis is the Original Gooner Chameleon. He is a Nerd, a geek, a creep, and an absolute menace. Francis lives in the Bitlands at Fort Francis. He has an obsession with Video Games, Anime, Butterflies, Pixls, and Hot Babes... Francis' voice should be that of a Nerdy Weeb. Along with the very cool (not cringe) lines, throw in a laugh some where, a good "Ner-herrr herrr herrr herr!" if you want.

King Croacus IV is the current King of the Floro Sapiens and the Final boss of Chapter 5. He is Flamboyant and adores beauty and is the owner of the 6th (blue) Pure Heart. He does not care for fighting but decides to dispose of the heroes when they enter his chambers..... King Croacus has also brainwashed Cragnons to rebuild his castle..... His voice should be of someone in a position of royalty and should reflect his Flamboyant personality!
"Ooooooo-weeee-ooooooo! Where, oh, where are my pretties?!"
"Trash is garbage, no matter how you dress it. This world is made for BEAUUUUUTY! And if you need some proof... then have a look at this!"

Satan himself.... No literally. Bonechill is the Final boss of Chapter 7, he takes the appearance of an Icy Dragon and leads the Skellobit army, he is attempting to takeover The Overthere. He takes inspiration from Greek Mythology and Christianity's along with the entirety of Chapter 7. His voice should be Dark, Demonic (he is technically Satan of the Mario multiverse, soooo-), cold, and maybe rumbly

The Incidental Fish Characters from SpongeBob, or at most the ones that are most prevalent and can be heard. They include:

Those are the main Incidental Fish that will need proper voices. everyone else can be whatever, or can be accurate to the show.
A lot of fish were at the Krusty Krab when Count Bleck arrived. he was kind enough to give them Helmets to breath at least.

Bestovius is a sage and also The Dimensional Governor of Lineland, who is a descendant of the ancients. He is a distant cousin of Merlon and Merlee while being a direct cousin of Old Man Watchitt.
Bestovius has a pretty Arrogant personality, trying to make the Hero pay a large sum of money just to give the ability to flip. Despite being arrogant and thinking highly of himself, he is still quite wise. His voice should match that of a wise old man, similar to Merlon but with a hint of arrogance.
"What is this yellow box that stands before me? And how does it have the audacity to address my muli-colored glory?"
"You must be the great... HERO ...impersonator! What a costume! You look like you leaped right out of the pages of the Prognosticus!""
"I, Bestovius, have granted you the ability to flip between dimensions. Just flick your wrist to slip between the very fabric of space and flip between dimensions"
Old Man Watchitt is the mayor of Yold Town and a descendant of the Ancients and he is crotchety. His voice should be that of an Old man, not exactly like a mean one, but not a nice one either
"Whoozit?! I'm the elder around here, so watch it!"
"Whuzzat?! Whizzit?! You're the hero?! Dumplings! If you were, you'd have a Pixl that's shaped like a hand!"
"Well, looks like I can finally retire, 'cause my job is done!"
Thoreau is the first obtainable Pixl in Super Paper Mario (besides Tippi) and found in a treasure chest.
His voice according to Tippi is Posh and Upper Class but not afraid to get his hands dirty
"Why... YES! I am indeed a Pixl. My name is... Thoreau!"
"What is important is the fact that I have waited AGES to lend my skill to the hero. And, glorious day, here you are! Do take me with you... You simply must!"

Merlumina, The professional yapper of the eon. She is a Ghostly Shaman and an ancestor of Merlon. She her self made a Pure Heart infact! Merlumina tends to tell incredibly long-winded stories and in Super Paper Mario it was enough to put Mario and Co to sleep. (Don't worry, a story will be told still but I have an idea to limit suffering).
Merlumina's voice should primarily be a calm woman with a hint of a ghostly effect (Cause ghost), however she does get irritated when people sleep through her stories so in your yap session you can include that if you want.
"Welcome, hero. My name is Merlumina."
"I am a dormant soul... I have waited long to give you the Pure Heart. Yes, I have been waiting for 1,500 years."
This is not a say smth you think would fit thing.... Just yap, yap about whatever in the voice, yapping is important
The InterNed is a digital block with a bowtie. He appears in Merlee's Mansion as a quiz show host.
The InterNed knows alll... and also moonlights as a game-show host!
His voice should be as bombastic and charming as a game-show host but since he's also a digital block, maybe a tiny bit of a robotic twinge to it.
"IIIIIIIT'S the 66th Annual... 'That's My Merlee' show! How're you folks doing?"
"Now! Time for our final question, folks! Excitement! Which will it be?"
"Well, folks, those were all five questions! So... Which one is the real Merlee?! Search your minds! LET'S HAVE A GUESS!"
Bubble Bass is the obese, olive-green skinned bass in Bikini Bottom, he is the stereotypically rude "Neckbeard" character in SpongeBob Squarepants. Bubble Bass is Arrogant, unmannerly, and rude, but he also shows signs of being lazy, cowardly and lacking responsibility. In this story he will appear in Chapter 3, The Bitlands
His voice should come close to his voice in the show, it's slobby and kind of nerdy
"I'll take a Double Triple Bossy Deluxe on a raft, four by four, animal-style, extra shingles with a shimmy and a squeeze, light axle grease, make it cry, burn it, and let it swim"

Squirps is a temporary alien companion of SpongeBob and friends in Outer Space and Prince of Squirpia, he displays an ambiguous, childish, but demanding attitude which puts him at odds with Tippi. His voice should be like a Male Child. Squirps often interjects nonsensical words starting with "squ-" in his speech.
"Noooooo! No scary faces! You can call me Squirps! I'm your captain, squooork!"
"No! I... I have to go potty! I REALLY have to go, squirk! I can't hold it anymore!"
"This is the Space Bypass! Yeah, from somewhere in here we can enter the Whoa Zone. C'mon, space grunt, look for the entrance, squeork!"
Chapter 5, Land of the Cragnons. The Cragnons are a species of cavemen like people, they're strange and tribal but also are capable of speech. They have a habit of replacing many words in the english language with "Crag" and "Brah". This is for the general cragnons in the species. However there is a main one named "Marbald" who is an elder Cragnon. Multiple people can get this role but only one for Marbald.
"This is land of Cragnons. Me Cragnon, him Cragnon, this land of Cragnons."
"Garbage into river, CRAG! Every day into river, YAG! Toss it and it gone, GRAG!"
Marbald (if you want them) "How do we save Cragnons? No ideas come to Marbald... and we keep losing Cragnons..."
Flint Cragley, Cragtrotter, He has the highest-rated news program in all of Crag. Flint is a documentarian and often speaks in dramatic and exciting headlines. Overall he has a great reputation, however despite this he is quite sneaky, a narcissist, and a coward. Although, he is courageous much of the time he is not above trying to avoid danger. Flint is also arrogant and rude, referring to himself as "Pure adventure personified".
He bares resemblance to Indiana jones and other celebrities like Steve Irwin.
Using a Canadian or Australian accent for his voice ought to do the trick
"CRAGLEY HO! Coming to you live, from the foul darkness; the home of the Floro Sapien."
"As a fellow cragtrotter, I know the heady thrill of the hunt! I'll yield to your lead!"
"Yes, once my fellow villagers see this, they'll surely realize the error in their ways. Once the words of Flint Cragley reach them, they'll throw garbage no more!"
These two Cragnons are part of Flint Cragley's crew.
Monzo is the Camera man and Hornfels is the Boomer. Both of them follow Flint Cragley around.
While they still have a caveman accent they should sound just a tiny bit more normal than the other Cragnons
Monzo is stubby so his voice should be a tiny bit deeper
Hornfels is a little bit confusing to describe, so try going off on looks.

King Sammer is the leader of the Sammer Guy's and is in possession of the Pure Heart.
The world of the Sammer Kingdom is most definitely based upon Japanese Samurai's.
There is not much on King Sammer in game. But I imagine that King Sammer has a Regal Japanese accent, it feels like his voice would be robust...
All Sammer Guys also have a similar Japanese/Samurai accent

"Ahem! Well, you see, I planned on bestowing our Pure Heart to you, but it's... gone. Instead, I present to you with these other royal treasures. My charity knows no bounds!"
The feared Ruler of The Underwhere is Queen Jaydes. Jaydes is Kindhearted yet strict, as well as he mother figure to Luvbi, since she is the ruler of The Underwhere she has the power over life and death. Queen Jaydes is inspired by greek mythology. Despite being feared she is not fearsome, and actually loved in some parts of the Underwhere.
Her voice should.. Well I don't know I don't know how to describe it. If it's possible to have a Shakespearean accent without Shakespearean words (thy, shalt, etc) then do that, if not, a greek and royal accent will probably work
"I am Queen Jaydes. Mistress of The Underwhere! Ruler of those with ended media!"
"Hm? I sense a strange energy... Have you brought something strange into The Underwhere, by chance?"
"I see... Then we are done here, it seems. You will spend the rest of eternity in the foulest corner of The Underwhere! Farewell, Yellow shayde! OhOhOhOhOhOhOhOhOhO!"
Luvbi is a Nimbi and believed to be the daughter of Queen Jaydes and Grambi. She is highly impulsive and enjoys insulting or teasing others. She is good-natured and cares deeply for her parents though. Luvbi also flusters Tippi and Tippi also calls her Optimistic. Luvbi's voice should be Shakespearean and a little bit annoying but that of a little girl.
"Ohhh me... I wonder if I shall meet my most special someone this day? Surely he is a prince of countenance fair, pining even now to meet me..."
"Ha HA! In thy FACE! My name is not Luv... WHAAAAAT?! H-H-How hast thou come by the knowledge of my name? No... Doth this mean..."
"Hee hee. But avert thine eyes whilst we climb, lets thou succumbeth to my cuteness!"
The God of the Mario Multiverse, and multiverse in general in this story. Grambi is the King of the Overthere and Luvbi's father figure. While he appears grumpy at times, he still cares for Luvbi.
For Grambi, I imagine his voice would be kind of gentle, like a gentle grandpa, being the ruler of the Overthere and this worlds version of God, he'd also be wise as well. He should have a Shakespearean accent when talking

Saffron: Saffron is a chef in Flipside, she runs the Sweet Smiles Restaurant. She has a sweet personality, often calling the player in SPM "Sugar". She should have a sweet and Southern Accent
Red and Green: Two mustachioed brothers found in Yold Town
Shadoo: a being created by the Ancients found at the end of the Pit of 100 Trials who makes shadow copies of the heroes. Should sound Shadowy and mysterious
D-Man: The D-Men are found in the Underwhere and they work for Queen Jaydes, based on their looks I imagine they have serious business sounding voices, maybe a very slight New York accent as well.
Shayde: The Shadye are the souls of the dead, they reside in the Underwhere. They should sound ghostly
Nimbi's: Nimbi's are found in the Overthere, male and female voices, They should sound kind of heavenly.
Doorguy: DoorGuy 1, 2, and 3 are doors that reside in the Underwhere, they give the Heroes questions that they need to get correct in order to proceed, with Doorguy 3 making them fight the Underchomp. Their voice should be deep, but not overly deep
Old Ladies: In the Underwhere there are 3 Old ladies that will have the Heroes get something for them in exchange for a key.
Sammer Guys: The Sammer Guys should sound like Samurai Warriors, there are 100 of them but in the story you only encounter like 30-35 maybe
MeowMaids: These are cat robots in Fort Francis, They should sound cute and their voices should be a young female..... Nya~
Blumiere's Father: The Father of Blumiere/Count Bleck. He has a very Minor role only appearing in a couple of flashback/memory scenes, but he's still a very important character. His voice should be posh like Bleck's but have a certain wise tone to it, not too wise though as he did "get rid of" Timpani
Princess Mindy: King Neptune's Daughter, in this story she will reunite SpongeBob with the Golden Spatula that he pulled out of the grease in Season 1. Her voice should sound like a slightly older version of Scarlett Johansson's Voice for her
Other than these Characters, Generic voices can be used
