THE SOMEGUY SERIES REMASTER

A PROJECT FOR FALLOUT: NEW VEGAS

SYNOPSIS

------------------------

The Someguy Series is a series of interactive story addons for Fallout: New Vegas. They have gotten high praise from fans and critics alike for their writing, stories, and gameplay.

One area, however, that has been seen as inconsistent is voice acting. There are characters throughout the series that fall in one or more of these categories:

- Bad acting

- Bad audio quality

- Missing lines

The Someguy Series Remaster project aims to remaster the original audio of several characters and hire new actors to revoice a handful of the original cast.

WHAT IS MY ROLE IN THIS?

I will be directing all voice actors cast for a role.

WHAT IS YOUR ROLE IN THIS?

----------------------------

I am looking for various actors who are willing to bring the cast of this project to life. The cast is wide and varied and will need a strong cast of voice actors to deliver the lines.

I am not super picky about microphone quality but would prefer if the mic is around the range of a Blue Yeti.

INSTRUCTIONS

---------------------

If you are cast for a role, you will receive a script through Gmail or Voice123 DMs with recording instructions, deadline, accent specifications, character bios, and line directions. If you want to discuss alternate communication methods, we can do that through Voice123 DMs.

I expect lines to be sent back for all characters following the correct organization.

It would be best if you were recording through audio recording software like Audacity or Adobe Audition. You should export and submit your audition as a .wav audio file with the settings of 44.1 kHz, 16 bits, and mono recording format. I would also like all lines to be separated.

I will open more roles over time. If you are not cast for a role, don't be discouraged from auditioning for another, as more roles will be posted over time. If you're already cast for a role and want to audition for another one - you can do so.

  • Where will this mod be released?

    It will be released on Nexus Mods, specifically the section for Fallout: New Vegas.

  • When will this mod be released?

  • What Audience will this mod be for?
    ------------------------------------------------
    A subsection of gamers known as modders. Modders are gamers who partake in enhancing a particular game with new, independent content known as mods. Some games with popular and well-known modding communities are Skyrim, Fallout 4, Sims, and Arma 2 & 3.

  • How will payment be handled?
    ----------------------------------------
    Payments will either be sent on the very day you're cast or after you've sent in your lines - It all depends on you. I would strongly prefer using Paypal as a means of transaction, but if otherwise, we can discuss alternative methods of payment.

  • What is the eligible age for auditioning?
    ---------------------------------------------------
    You *have* to be 18 or older to be eligible for being cast for a role. If you're below that age, you're not eligible.

  • Deadline for Auditioning?
    ---------------------------------
    2-3 months. However, there is always the possibility for the deadline to be pushed. There is also the possibility of separate casting calls for this project categorized in "rounds" (Round 1, round 2, round 3, etc.).

CHARACTER DESCRIPTION:
- This man is the bodyguard for Adam Rzeznik, a slaver who is currently based in the Mojave Wasteland.

-  Not much is known about this man, other than that he's been hired by Mr. Rzeznik to protect him and his assets - who in this case are his slaves/chattel. He's your average goon. Only useful when it comes to protection and being cannon fodder for their boss.

- He's not the smartest tool in the shed, but he is a tool. And being a tool, his boss sees him as useful for his tasks. He's like a guard dog, in a way. When his master orders him to attack, he will. When his master orders him to search for something, he will. When his master orders him to stay put, he will. He's a guard dog, an obedient guard dog.

- He's 28-35 years old.

- North American or Southern American accent. No other exceptions.

CHARACTER DESCRIPTION:
- Doctor Musgrove is the local physician of Frosthill, a safe haven for outlaws and fugitives based in the snowy region of Utah.

-  Doctor Musgrove was once a praised physician in his younger years. When his wife died of a brain aneurysm, however, his life took a downward spiral. He took up drinking, which affected his work. Things came to a close when he eventually botched a delivery, causing a mother and her baby to die. He managed to escape trial and the authorities by skipping town. He now continues his neutered career in Frosthill as the town's physician.

- He's quite despondent and cold-sounding. His life up until this moment has been an absolute beatdown on his psyche. He still aims to help others, but any will to live and love he had for himself is pretty much null by the time the player meets him. He is passively suicidal, meaning he has suicidal thoughts but doesn't act on them. He doesn't care whether he lives or dies, as he stopped caring about his life a long time ago.

- He's 35-45 years old.

- North American or Southern American accent. No other exceptions.

- Matt Jackson is a young farmer who is currently mourning the loss of his father and two brothers.

-  Matt Jackson is the sole survivor of a slaughter orchestrated by an infamous outlaw named Red Bear. Red Bear killed his father and brothers. He is currently mourning next to their graves which he made himself.

- Matt Jackson is a young man whose life has taken an unexpected spiral for the worst. The people who were there to give him love, affection, and direction in his life are now gone forever. He is sad, confused, and doesn't know where to go from here.

- He's 20-22 years old.

- North American or Southern American accent. No other exceptions.

CHARACTER DESCRIPTION:
- Chester is a lieutenant of a gang of raiders called the Fiends.

-  Not much is known about Chester, other than that he's affiliated with the Fiends, a gang/tribe of raiders native to New Vegas. Recently, he and his crew have hit a dry spell on drugs. Now he's fiending, and is looking for any way to satiate his addiction. He's heard about a certain someone (The Courier/player character) recently obtaining a large sum of money. Learning this, he and his crew staged a hostage takeover, killing a family and holding their son for ransom. He wants 50,000 caps (Which is A LOT of money in the Fallout universe). Nothing less. If the Courier comes to the deal with 49,999, he and his goons will kill the young boy.

- Chester is a cannibal, junkie, and raider; not the greatest combination. He was already paranoid as is, but now that he's fiending and out of his mind. He's ruthless, insane, and is willing to do anything to get his fix. He has become desperate. And when he's desperate, he is even more ruthless than usual. He's a dark, twisted man who doesn't care about the lives of others.

- He's 25-35 years old.

- He should sound insane. Animalistic. Scary. Intimidating. He should sound like a person who has lost all sense of humanity.

CHARACTER DESCRIPTION:
- Esther is a slaver who has a recurring presence in the Someguy Series.

-  Esther is a slaver. In the Inheritance - one entry in the Someguy Series - she is running a slave trafficking ring disguised as a small orphanage. In New Vegas Bounties 2, she has been caught by the NCR and is being utilized as an informant. By New Vegas Bounties 3 - her last appearance - she is living in Frosthill with her partner with whom she has a child with. She, at one point, was accompanied by a super mutant named Zeke.

- Esther is a two-faced individual. She pretends to be a saint to keep up appearances. Once her personality is exposed and stripped naked, she is shown to have a heart of stone. Truly heartless. She'll do anything to get her way, which in this case for the Someguy Series, is getting out of being convicted by the authorities or being killed for her illegal activities.


- She's 28-35 years old.

- English/British accent. No other exceptions. I would prefer a Southern English/Upper-class/Aristocratic accent. I Would also prefer a Native English actress for this role.

- Her voice should be similar to his original voice acting, just in higher quality. There is also a signature of the original VA. You’re free to experiment; know that the voice must be similar to either the original VA.

    [Person makes fun of you and your current predicament][You don't find it funny and try to put them down a notch]

    (Unamused)(Unphased)(Cold tone) Come here to gloat, have you? Ever consider that you wouldn't be here if I hadn't asked for you by name?

    [Person asks what you're doing here]

    Thanks to a touch of perfidy on the part of my Legion contact, I was ambushed by Rangers. (Sad tone) They even killed Zeke, the poor creature.

  • [It has been a year since your last interaction with your former business partner. Since then, you have moved to Frosthill. There, you met a man named Jackson (No relation to Matt Jackson) who you decided to settle down with. You're currently pregnant with his child and are resting easy in your retirement. However, a certain individual walks into your home. You discover it is none other than the person you have cheated death with twice. You're shocked, scared, and don't know what to do. Most unfortunately for you, however, is that the only leverage you have is your guilt and the fact that you're pregnant. You beg for this person to let you go, only for your child's sake]

    (Shocked)(Skin turns pale)(Eyes widen) Bloody. Hell.

    (Shocked)(Skin turns pale)(Shouting)(Sobbing) Oh, God! No, you monster! He didn't do anything! Why, why, why? You'll pay for this, you hear me! One day you'll damn well pay for everything!

    [Person says they're gonna kill you]
