The Saint's Side Stories: Remia P1

The Saint's Side Stories: Remia P1

Project Overview

Hello everyone! I appreciate your interest in this project. This is my first foray into production and management, which is exciting and humbling. The project in question is my short story Intercession, one of a three-part series of the Saint's Side Stories, an original novel I am writing. Instead of the typical route many writers take, I have decided to approach publication through other mediums, including audio and video.

This project seeks a narrator and voice actor for Remia, the protagonist and self-narrator of the short story. If you are interested in auditioning, please submit your audition through CCC. This is a paid role.

The short story is 6777 words long. If you are chosen for the role, you will be collaborating with me to deliver a powerful, dramatic audio experience to be enjoyed by all ages and backgrounds of readers and listeners.

I'm excited about this, as I see it as the start of a whole new era of my career as a writer. Please join me on this exciting project and for those in the future!

Latest Updates

  • Behind the scenes

All the audio for the project has been recorded, and now I am working to put it all together so that it can be added to a video editor as an audio track. This is all relatively new stuff for me, so it might take some time.

The current timeframe is looking like a month or so for the final product to be ready.

It's been an interesting experience. I'm unsure if anyone is still reading these posts or if I'm talking into the void, but if you are, let me know if you would like to get more information about the behind-the-scenes work. Maybe it would give someone an insight into what this process looks like.

  • Actor Chosen

    Hello everyone,

I have selected the actor for the role of Remia / Narrator / Eliana.

Thank you all for your auditions. You are all so talented that it was a tough choice.

In the future, I am looking into having more roles for voice actors. Please stay tuned for future projects.

For now, I will work with the actor to get this project on the road. Once the final project is completed, I will post a link to it here.

    Thank you, everyone!

  • Final Project Update Before Selection: 1/30/25

    Hey everyone,

I have been listening to your auditions over and over along with one of my colleagues. Everyone has done just an amazing job. I am so impressed with the talent on this website.

I have narrowed the role down to three actors and will choose the final selection later tonight (1/30/25). I will award the actor who gets the role with the gold medal award, the runner-up with silver, and the third with bronze. This is to give back for all the hard work they have put into their auditions, as well as keep a record of who to contact in case something goes awry with the actor who gets the role. Sometimes things happen and it's good to have a backup plan.

Thank you all for such interest in this project. As of writing this, I have received 47 submissions and over 1000 views on the project. I'm blown away by the response, as this is my first project on CCC.

I have followed many of you so we can keep in contact and you will be able to see future projects. Truly, I ask that everyone keep an eye out.

I think in the future I will be adding more roles. Firstly, to give more people a shot at getting a role (and paid) but also to perhaps shift things to more of an audio drama feel. It's something I'm going to be thinking about greatly over the next few weeks while this project approaches its final stages.

Again, thank you so much. This website is awesome and the people here are as well.

  • Last Call

    Hello everyone,

In the next few days, I will go through every audition again with some colleagues to find the voice for this story.

I believe I'll dismiss those who do not meet some standards such as quality audio or a voice that I do not think could fit the character. If this happens to you, please don't feel bad! I've really loved all the auditions, and I am so humbled by the response this project has gotten. I assure you that I will have more work in the future, and I will be happy to see your auditions for those future projects.

Once the voice actor has been selected, I will need to contact them for production, and payment, and to give them some notes before they begin work.

Please follow me here on CCC to stay tuned to upcoming projects.

    Thank you!

  • Deadline Moved Closer

The deadline has been moved to the first of February.

    Thanks, everyone!

--UPDATED: 1/10/25--

This is a lead/narration role for an audiobook reading of a short story. This is a SFW role; no NSFW work will be requested on any works related to or associated with this work, or any works associated with me as a creator.

Please use a quality mic with no background noise. The finished product should be exported to an uncompressed WAV file.

--Overview--

This is my first piece of writing to be produced in an audio format, so I am pretty new to directing. Please bear with me as I learn by the seat of my pants and improve. Hello everyone, my name is Theodore James. I am a writer of science fiction and fantasy fiction and am currently working to get my works published. This role is one step forward for me in that pursuit, as I endeavor to make writing and production my breadwinner.

This will be the narration and audio dramatization of my short story Intercession, the first in a three-part series of short stories associated with this character. If you have any questions, feel free to message me.

--Characters-- **Authors Note: I have updated the descriptions for clarity, and to help you with auditions.

Narrator - Remia herself narrates this story at a later point in her life. She looks back fondly on many of the memories. General narration and description should be read with this in mind.

Remia - Protagonist and main character. A nondescript teenage girl living in a fantasy/medieval village with her parents. Remia is a quiet, kind, and nervous girl who miraculously recovered from a fatal illness.

Eliana - A side character who interacts with Remia. Must have a distinct voice discernable from Remia's. Eliana is an elf, coming from a traumatic but regal background. She is A character of great importance, that Remia looks up to.

Please audition using the three lines provided. The whole story as well as character notes will be sent to you after auditions have been completed and the role has been secured.

--Retakes--

There is a good chance that I will ask for a few retakes of specific lines. To ensure that you do not do more work than necessary, I will be creating a discord under my moniker so that we may communicate and have a forum for clear and public communication and collaboration.

--Payment--

As this is my first time using CCC for hiring, I ask that you bear with me as we figure out which platform to use for payment. We can discuss this after you have been selected for the role. I assure payment will be delivered promptly upon delivery of the final WAV file, and recommend taking a screenshot of the received payment for posterity.

I fully intend to use CCC for future projects that I am working on. I will not screw anyone over.

  • Narrator: I don't want to die. I squinted over to my side to see my mother weeping. She had become splotchy and blurry, as had my room. I was in our garden, picking the sage and rosemary that grew in the little plot behind the house. I bent to grip a stem of sage, and then the sky switched with the ground and I went tumbling. Dad was at the door, too. It looked like he was shouting, but I could hear no words. Mother turned to respond, but there were still no words. I was a sickly child for many years, but this was the worst it had been. It happened so suddenly. Doesn't it always? It isn't fair. It's never fair.

  • Remia: "I am... fine," and I was, but something tugged at my heart. "I have never felt so... so..."

  • Eliana: "He looks that way for good reason," resting her chin between her knees, "Every person he saves, every fate he intercedes, he exacts a toll. From small things as a Baker's burns to a sickness like yours, he has taken all the afflictions from this village, as he has done for the village before and the others before that."
