Moss & Teeth

Project Overview

The Moss Wood is inhabited by all sorts of dangers and forest dwellers; trolls, fairies, nymphs, werewolves, vampires, and many more. Its very floors pulse and sing with magic and mist. Follow the adventures of a young human from the pirate settlement of Harbale, equipped with a love for the peculiar and who often bites off more than they can chew. One fateful evening, their interest is piqued by a mysterious danger, and despite cautionary tales, they venture into the Moss at full moon.
With lively characters accompanied by masterfully composed music, this is sure to be your next fantasy favorite.
This is the new fantasy podcast created by the creative duo at VulgarCake Studios, "Moss & Teeth".

We started this project in early 2020, right around the COVID-19 pandemic, before either of us even turned 18. We were overwhelmed with the amount of positive attention this got us, as well as how many people auditioned.


Then, predictably, life stuff happened.


For us, work and art school happened, and our original VA's also had things start to pop up as well. For awhile, it seemed like the project was fading. However, we refused to let that happen!
In late 2023, we published the pilot episode of Moss & Teeth (then "The Moss") on Spotify. Ever since then, we have been incredibly excited to continue the rest of this fantasy audio drama.

    Hey there everyone! We have reviewed all of the auditions and have assigned VA's to roles. Apologies for the delayed update! Holidays and such have kept us pretty busy.

    It was a really difficult decision, as all of you are extremely skilled and clearly have a lot of passion for this project, just as we do. To those that were assigned roles and haven't accepted yet, look out for a message from us with instructions to join our project Discord server.     Hi there!

    Thank you to everyone who submitted an audition. Entering submissions is now closed. We will now take some time to review the auditions and assign voice actors to roles, and take on editors who submitted their portfolios.

Tarot is reckless, obnoxious and a bit of a bumbling idiot. While their arrogance tends to shine, they have a big heart and love for their family. This one harbors a strong compassion and curiosity for the unknown, and one that often gets them into very avoidable trouble.

Tarot is autistic and has ADHD.

Basil's demeanor is a mix of chill, straightforward and honestly a little bumbly. They're not easily phased by most things. They know when to get serious and when to loosen up. They have a tendency to be a little cryptic at times, sometimes even morbid in their serenity.

This character is nonbinary. They are transfeminine; lower voices are welcome.
