The Last Fire Sprite - Animatic
Project Overview
INTRODUCTION
Hello, Everyone! This is a casting call for a 3-6 minute animatic that I am developing. This is to serve as a proof of concept for my Animated Series, The Last Fire Sprite (Working Title). I wrote this animatic to be a music video for the song "Experiment on Me" - by Halsey. The Last Fire Sprite will have musical numbers in each episode and this will serve as a comp song when developing the actual music for this scene.
The reason why I am seeking voice actors is that I have written a scene around the musical performance that requires some vocal talent! Since this is only a scene from the show and not a full episode, I only need two roles filled: Blaise and Axel. The role of Idina has already been cast.
THE PROJECT
The Last Fire Sprite takes place in a Cyberpunk Fantasy world. Magic has been long forgotten, and the world is run by a corrupt syndicate. Blaise is the last of her kind, a Fire Sprite, and must go on a quest to prevent the end of the world. Unfortunately for her, Fire Sprites drive a high price on the black market. Enlisting the help of a fellow outcast, Axel, the duo must fight ruthless bounty hunters in order to survive.
This animatic takes place late into season 1 (after a whole bunch of character development) when IDINA has decided to join our duo of heroes to help save the world. Being a Bounty Hunter, she's been on high alert for a very long time and BLAISE would like to allow her friend the chance to cool off and have some fun. AXEL knows a place where they can let off some steam while keeping a low profile and takes them to a secret club called The Cellar. Inside, a crowd roars for heavy metal rockers. When they ask the crowd for volunteers, Axel holds up Idina's hand. And thus the music begins!
WHAT TO EXPECT
I hope that this project will be fun for everyone involved. This is a zero-budget production that will be uploaded to Youtube for anyone to watch. This is a great way to get your talents seen!
WHAT YOU SHOULD DO
- First off, have fun! This is an animated show with magic and laser swords after all!
- Please send your recordings as one WAV File down below.
- Please submit clean recordings on prosumer mics (no air conditioners in the background, etc -- I don't mind if you perform some noise reduction on your files.
- Try a few different takes on the lines! Make it your own! Feel free to cut your lines to your best/favorite takes, but I'm not picky when it comes to that.
DEADLINES AND AUDITIONS
The deadline for auditions is August 13th, 2020. I'll notify voice actors who have been cast in roles by August 14th and send scripts to voice actors by August 15th. I would like to receive all lines back from voice actors by August 17th. This deadline is flexible. I want the best performance for these roles and do not want to rush the voice actors if they need more time.
PAYMENT
No artist goes unpaid! But I am operating off of zero budget so I can't offer much. If you get the role, you have probably at most an hour of work to do and that's being generous. Please send your rates!

Our heroine of the story, Blaise is the Last known Fire Sprite in existence. Standing 5 inches tall, she has fiery red hair that matches her personality. She's young, probably in her mid to late teens. She's peppy, naive and always sees the best in people. She has set out on a quest to save the world, but that doesn't mean she can't have some fun along the way.
[Your friend, Idina, has been very wound up recently and you're trying to convince her to let off some steam.]
"Come on, Idina! You're finally on 'Team Fire Sprite'! This calls for a celebration! Let's go have some fun!"
[She finally agrees.] (ecstatic)
"Yay! Thank you so much, Idina! Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
[You're trying to get your friend, Axel, to help out.]
"We need to help Idina loosen up. I really don't think she knows how to have fun."

Axel is a 16-year-old street rat who was experimented on and turned into a mutant. It's because of this that he doesn't allow anyone to get close to him. He puts up a nonchalant facade to hide his true insecurities. Blaise is the only person that he's allowed to get close to him. When push comes to shove, he will do whatever it takes to defend his only "real" friend.
[Your friends are arguing about where to go next. One of them wants to have fun while the other wants to get out of the open to avoid potential threats.]
What if I knew of a place that's both fun and low profile? Come on, I'm taking you girls to the best place for people like us, The Cellar.
[You approach the Bouncer at an exclusive club. You recognize him from previous times you've attended this establishment]
Hey, Nomoa, it's just me and my friend for tonight.
[He doesn't respond.]
Really? Come on, man, I know your sister for crying out loud.
(sighs) [You say the password to enter]
It's a beautiful evening to spend among friends.
[Your friend mockingly comments on your choice of companions.]
Aren't you friends with literal bounty hunters? Don't worry. We're completely safe here.
