Casting
Hey everyone! Hope you are all doing amazingly! We will be casting very soon! We really appreciate all of your incredible auditions!
Doreen Green is a superhero for fun! It’s not a glorious gig, but she has a pure heart and a drive to help others. In the hopes of getting the attention of her long lost parents, she enters a fighting tournament, competing against foes from across the globe. However, this tournament might not appear as it seems, as the people in charge remain in the shadows.
This is a fairly comedic project that will have glimpses of sincerity as it moves forward, and as the stakes get higher. The first half is very fast-paced with the jokes (i.e. the Spider-verse films, Community) and each line flows into the next. The second half much more story driven and will get a bit more serious as the plot moves forward.

A former mutant superhero who retired a long time ago after losing his arm while in combat. He now works as a personal trainer for the tournament, and mentors Squirrel Girl on her journey. He is obscure in the comics, but VERY important to this story.
Coach is old, grizzled, and consumed by his past mistakes. Some of his scenes are emotionally-demanding, especially as his and Squirrel Girl's mentor/student relationship develops. Although he's old, he's still fairly energetic in his moments of coaching.
Some Approximate Voice references:
Jonathan Banks (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul) https://youtu.be/RFr9iQ2fhkA?si=WYcg7yokTgOBfado
Hugh Jackman (Wolverine OBVIOUSLY lol)
[Regretful] “We crossed a line. I crossed a line… It's unethical, it's… Just when I think I hit rock bottom, I turn over a stone and find that there's an even darker abyss that I can't see the bottom of… this has to end. You gotta let me go.”
[trying to switch tones when he says “lose.”] Who said anything about YOU drinking? Hell, I'M the one who's gonna need it after you loooooooooose the doubts of the naysayers that don't believe in you…”
“YOU DID IT, KID! YOU ACTUALLY- I mean, OF COURSE YOU DID IT!”
A young blue-skinned superhero with a tail and teleportation powers! Kurt Wagner is a mutant that has spent his whole life living in the shadows and was looked down upon for his appearance. So, when he meets Squirrel Girl, he relates, and the two have a fun rivalry which blossoms into a deep and meaningful friendship.
Looking for a kind, chill voice with glimpses of introspection. MUST be able to do a German accent consistently throughout.
(WILL RETURN IN THE FUTURE)
[More confident, gathering himself] “Ah yes. Well, I fought in the tournament after you, and won my match. According to the tournament bracket, it seems as though I'll be fighting you next.”
[Delivering a joke] “A man is sitting at home when he hears a knock at the door. He opens it and sees a snail on the porch. He picks up the snail and throws it as far as he can. A year later, there’s another knock at the door. He opens it and sees the same snail. The snail says, “What the hell was that for?!”
“Weiß nicht (Vy-sneesht). No clue. All I see is a metal wall and a small hole in the roof…”
Juggernaut is a large hulking mass of unstoppable force that goes up against Squirrel Girl! Cain is a big brute who loves challenges and picking fights. However, he also has a softer side which conceals someone who isn't entirely bad.
Just answer heads up, this role will contain a LOT of yelling.
(WILL RETURN IN THE FUTURE)
“Do you got ANY idea who you're dealing with here?! I'M THE JUGGERNAUT, BITCH!”
[With conviction, progressively gets more and more aggressive] “Magician? Nah. This ain't no magic wand J.K. Rowling bullshit. I'm invulnerable to physical attacks! I'm incapable of being muzzled! I'm what happens when an UNSTOPPABLE FORCE, and an IMMOVABLE OBJECT, screw behind an ARBY'S PARKING LOT while FLEETWOOD MAC PLAYS ON THE RADIO!”
Mother Maggie is a supportive mother figure in Doreen Green's life. She isn't all-knowing, but she helps guide Doreen towards the right path.
Maggie is very caring and empathetic, but it's also clear that Doreen has pulled one too many antics around her.
[Unimpressed] “Ah, so you're sticking with the superhero thing, huh?”
[Sigh] “You know, Doreen, out of all the pupils that left St. Agnes's… you're one of the young adults that worry me the most.”
LOOKING FOR POC ACTOR ONLY
Ororo Munroe makes a brief appearance in this story, and this role might also carry on to other planned projects for the MADU.
Storm is a commanding, but kind and honest presence. She welcomes everyone with open arms, but is tough and fierce when she needs to be. In this particular story, she is benevolent and kind. In the future, there may be a line or two in Xhosa, so her actor will be needed to learn and be directed for the correct pronunciations. She has a dramatic flare with a serious sense of importance brought to her grace.
“It somehow didn’t feel right. With the control I have, both on the responsibility of guiding the others, and in the things I can do out there in the open air. It just felt unfair to do something worse to one under me, Clarice.”
“You know I cannot turn that down in helping the others, Master Gibar, but what makes you think I can make this work? I am a pickpocket, and I have had many close calls even with that.”
“Let's get going. The sun leaking through the upper stones are the closest sight we have to the daylight lost, and if Ra falls to rest, the boss outside for this heist may doubt our return. So, let's not disappoint."
Relatively small role with only a couple lines, Regina is part of the medical staff. Just need an informed, empathetic voice.
“I'm Regina Hughes, I run the medical wing for the tournament grounds.”
“I can't explain it either, Ms. Green. Maybe you just don't know your own strength. Good luck.”
There are quite a few extras in this project! I’ll highlight some of the more ridiculous lines:
[Outraged] “If they're not gonna fight then they could at least make out!”
[Disappointed.] I never even considered that Dr. Pepper could be a woman… Maybe I'm a bad person.
