Project Overview
Hey everyone! I am opening up casting for our indie animation project: The Hungry Moon, which will release later this year. The team is so excited and we can't wait to cast some amazing actors!
The Hungry Moon is a standalone animated episode, with the potential for more in the future. It is a horror project aiming for a young adult audience.
We are asking for a tight turnaround, with auditions closing on Sunday 8/30 at Midnight. So please, if you are interested, make sure to get those auditions in quickly! The chosen actors will be notified by 8/31 at the latest. Recording will take place on either 9/1, 9/2 or 9/3, depending on the chosen actors' availability. Exact timing will be worked out with me prior to recording. Please do NOT audition if you are going to be unable to record on any of these dates!
We will record in our project discord channel. As a result, having a discord account is mandatory. Please make sure to include your discord username with your audition. I know. Another discord server? Do not worry; this project has a script, a team, and a schedule. This is not our first rodeo and I'm aiming to make this as quick and painless as possible.
I would also love to see your range so that I can keep you in mind for future projects. Please link your website and/or socials with an easily accessible demo along with your audition.
In addition to outstanding acting ability, audio quality is paramount. Please do not audition unless you are sure that your equipment and recording space are high quality. If you submit an audition with sub-par audio quality, it will be immediately thrown out, regardless of acting ability. Please do not waste your own time and mine. If cast, you will be expected to have a DAW, know how to use it, and record your high quality audio on your own end in wav format. No post-production on your part will be necessary, as our editors will be handling that themselves.
The lead roles have 40-50 lines total. The minor roles have 10-20 lines.

Voice Actor
Lead Role. David Clayton is a 33 year old male from rural Texas. He finds solace in nature, and after moving all around the country for the National Park Service, he’s since lost his Southern twang. Stern yet empathetic, David strives to be a protector of those who can’t protect themselves.

[Shouting] What the hell is that thing?! Millie - watch out!
[Annoyed, but likeable] You've gotta be kidding me. Look, I don't believe in fairy tales. Whatever this thing is, there's got to be a rational explanation.
Voice Actor
Lead Role. Millie Harper is a female 22 year old that’s determined to prove her belief in the supernatural real. Her more than tragic life has created a tough exterior that is at odds with her kind heart. Confident yet out of her depth, Millie strives to prove herself.

Voice Actor
Minor Role. The Detective is a generally unpleasant individual. He's comfortable in his role and, at this point in his career, he's seen everything. That said, his limits are tested when faced with the truly supernatural.

Voice Actor
Minor Role. The Fisherman enjoys his simple life with his only companion: a dog named Goldie. A simple man, he spends his nights fishing and drinking on his boat.
