The House of Misfits Project
Project Overview
Welcome to the House of Misfits! This is an indie animated passion project created by 321BAZINGA, featuring a cast of silly, mischievous, and "shenani-gous" characters, causing chaos throughout their many episodic adventures. To bring this series to life, we are in need of a crew of talented and passionate volunteers who are interested in making this project a reality. The project is entirely non-profit and volunteer-based, so roles for writers, animators, and voice actors will be unpaid, with no profit to us either.
For this show, we are scouting out for experienced writers, animators, and voice actors, with one year of experience or more. Because we value our volunteers, every participant will receive credit for their work on this project. Even if just five devoted artists signed up, it would mean the world to us. So please, come sign up for this passion project if you're interested, and message @321bazinga_ on TikTok for more information.
What a character! Silly Willy is probably the most prominent character in the series. He's the guy who would be willing to lend you $20, if he had a job. Although he is often seen goofing around, he makes up for it in his endless optimism, loyalty, and always trying to spread joy to his friends in any way, shape, or form. As his name suggests, he is a very silly and wacky person, being the most zany, looney, and cartoony of the bunch. Due to his defiance of the laws of nature, Silly, while still able to be harmed, is technically eternal. He is often heard with a slight Midwestern accent, though he still talks in a General American manner. Ironically in spite of his immortality, he is very sensitive, often becoming emotionally hurt from others.

The man who's always up to something, Ice Cube! This guy is a 4-foot-tall block of ice, who in his past, has escaped from prison and changed his identity. He is very close with his best friend and roommate Silly, and is essentially the crew's Jack of all trades, having the ability to operate almost anything with relative ease. Ice Cube speaks in a Chicano accent and dialect, often talking in a chill, laid-back manner, but is also shown to talk expressively. While he is endearing to his pals, he often has a short fuse which makes him annoyed easily, and is commonly seen smoking an unhealthy amount of tobacco.

The brains of the erratic ensemble, Nerd Guy! Nerd Guy is a top-notch scientist and engineer, who just so happens to be friends with the Misfits. He is legally considered blind, and always wears huge, ridiculous glasses. He is shown speaking in a stereotypical nerd "erm, actually" voice, but also talks in a faint Bostonian accent. Due to his great IQ of over 200, he is usually seen working and tweaking on his inventions, and insists on donning a lab coat everywhere he goes.

Watch out for this egghead! Meet Egguy, a dude who was originally just an ordinary egg, he trained his intellect to become an inventor, and created an invention to make himself strong, tall, and muscular. The kid has some similarities with his friend Nerd Guy, but he is seen as stubborn, dogmatic, never accepting defeat, always trying to prove that he is right.

The man of the hour, meet Frank! This frankfurt is the oldest member of the group, who is known in his personal life for being the only married person, and working a dead end 9-to-5. While he does have actual responsibilities, he still works with his partner in crime, Mr. Toast. Frank is shown having a fear of hot dogs, since it reminds him of his horrific experiences as a sausage himself.

We all know this guy, the man Mr. Toast! This walking piece of toast is a little bit crispy. To say a little less, Mr. Toast is shown as a pretty effeminate man, who is commonly seen trying to flirt with almost every person he comes across. He is also Frank's partner in crime, so even if he doesn't find love, he still has his missioning and heisting buddy.

These characters are people almost all volunteers can audition for, with not as much importance as the main crew, typically requiring lesser talent than the lead roles. You can voice if you're relatively new, not as attached to the project, or just as another role in the series.

Welcome animators! The visuals of The House of Misfits will be brought to life by you very talented people. This series will be entirely animated, so you are a big part of this project, and it is important if you are qualified for this undertaking.
It is ideal that animators are relatively able to replicate the show's look, but as long as it doesn't deviate too far the original style, you are free to add your own stylistic elements. It is also ideal that animators should have at least one year of experience, but if it at least looks professional, one year experience isn't really required. The series is often lively and cartoony, "shenani-gous" as it's called, and and animators who are familiar with that style of animation are what we are primarily looking for.
Please note that this series is a project created by passionate people, and any use of generative AI within the production of this show is strictly prohibited. This is a product of dedication, not of efficiency.

Welcome writers! One of the core elements of this project is it's writing, so having writers is a big part. We are looking for creative and artistic writers to help come up with the plots, gags, character interactions, and settings for the show. This series is primarily character-based, so it is important to look at the characters descriptions to get a soild idea of their mannerisms and personalities. The outlining for the show's episodes can be done either in storyboard or script form, whichever one suits your writing process the best.
